Daggers Posted 12 July 2006 Posted 12 July 2006 He has stated his intention of not accapting a new contract now his 2yr one has finished ... and everyone is clamouring for him to continue. Seems they have all forgotten that most people thought he was shit before the tourno started, and that the squad was a bundle of tension and arguments ~ with major players slating his naive tactics. I think he was a 'Keegan' who got lucky on the back of some home crowd performances and is wise to step down. I'll wager he would have been found wanting in the qualifiers for Euro08

I loved the way that he had changed Germany from being a dull but effective side into a high-tempo attacking team. The confed tourno showed most what to expect from them this summer. But you might be irght in your assessment that he'd be found out. Now he will always and only be remembered as a hero. Wise move...

Absobloominlutely. Goes out a hero in Germany, can command his own fee in his next job and will forever have people asking for his autograph. No longer will he just be remembered as an ok striker who mysteriously fell over in and around the box a lot.
