Anish Posted 20 November 2004 Posted 20 November 2004 Can't say I was overly impressed with the performance - attacking wise we were poor and I can't see Connolly ever scoring at this rate. Taylor - 6 Makin - 5.5 Keown - 6 Dabizas - 6 Stewart - 7.5* Gillespie 5.5 Nalis - 6 Gudjonsson - 6 Tiatto - 6 Scowy - 5.5 Connolly - 6 Subs: Gemmill - 5 Morris - 6.5 Blake - 6

Guest Daniel Posted 20 November 2004 Posted 20 November 2004 Taylor - 9* - Made some good saves on his first match and is to thank for a clean sheet. Makin - 5 Keown - 7 Dabizas - 7 Stewart - 6 Gillespie - 7 Nalis - 6 Gudjonsson - 7 Tiatto - 6 Scowy - 6 Connolly - 5 Subs: Gemmill - 6 Morris - 7 Blake - 7
Scow Posted 20 November 2004 Posted 20 November 2004 Taylor 8 - Solid, made a few good saves, kicking a bit iffy though. Makin 5 - Poor distribution at times, but generally solid. Keown 9* - Rock at the back. Dealt with Roberts/Ellington with ease. Dabizas 6 - Did Ok, but still gives away far too many free kicks with his 'chesting' the striker from behind. Stewart 7 - Defensively good, still needs to work on his crosses and attacking play. Gillespie 6 - Tried his best, got in a few crosses, but nothing outstanding. Nalis 6 - A bit inconsistent with his passing at times, sometimes tends to not look where he's passing to and gives it away so cheaply. Gudjonsson 6 - A bit like Nalis, but did put some good tackles in and scrapped well. Just lacks that quality on distributing the ball. Tiatto 7 - As committed as ever, linked up well with Stewart down the left, seems to be getting a better understanding with every game. Scowcroft 7 - Held up the ball extremely well and showed some nice touches. Good awareness with his passing, which bought other's in to play. Connolly 6 - Not much of an impact, drops of in to the midfield/wide left too often, and then leaves us short upfront. Subs: Morris 7 - Looked lively again, should have got a penalty when he spun one of their defenders and was blatantly taken out. Gemmill 6 - Average, but kept things ticking over in midfield. Blake 7 - Yes, I gave him a 7. He played well when he came on, Held it up well and spun the defenders a few times. Couldn't believe it when he turned away from two defenders, got free down the right, and crossed the ball well in to the box.

Scow Posted 20 November 2004 Posted 20 November 2004 Blake and Connolly against Plymouth then? 37706 Scowcroft and Morris upfront, Connolly behind the front two.

Teeno Posted 20 November 2004 Posted 20 November 2004 Morris and Connolly I'd go for, Morris was excellent when he came on.Lee Lee Lee Lee Morris!!! 37833 Good call that 37835 I really do think Morris will be a great player for this club, he deserves a start and I think he is fit enough to. Doing this I would drop Scowy to the bench rather than the wing so we can keep our natural shape.
Anish Posted 21 November 2004 Posted 21 November 2004 Morris and Connolly up front for me too - although Connolly needs to be told to stay up front and not drift into midfield or out wide. He keeps losing his position far too often, no wonder he's not scored more than 2 goals if he's never in the box at the right time.
Wilson Posted 21 November 2004 Posted 21 November 2004 Sounds like Blake had a good game overall Was williams deemed unfit to be in the squad or was he just a un-used sub?
Sparky Posted 21 November 2004 Posted 21 November 2004 taylor 7 ( did what he had to) makin 5 (distrabution was poor) Dabizas 7 (better than usual , vital challenges) keown 9 (rock) stewart 8 (excellant defensivly) gillespie 7 (worked hard , not like him at all!) gudjohnsson 8 (seemed to be everywhere , endless energy) nalis 5 (gave ball away too often , looked knackered) tiatto 6 ( lots of energy but final ball lets him down) connolly 6 (usual performance, worked hard but didnt look dangerous) scowcroft 6 (another who failed to bother wigan) subs morris 7 blake 7 (slimline :w00t:) gemmill 6
