davieG Posted 21 July 2006 Posted 21 July 2006 Wolves have named Mick McCarthy as their new manager. McCarthy replaces Glenn Hoddle at Molineux after the former England boss stepped down from the role earlier this month. The former Republic of Ireland chief has been out of work since leaving Sunderland in March. McCarthy is looking forward to the prospect of managing Wolves and is ready for the challenge ahead. "I'm delighted to be joining Wolves," McCarthy told the club's official website. "There's a big job to do at Molineux and I'm relishing the challenge. "I can't wait to get down to work. With just two weeks to go before the start of the season there's lots to be done. "It's going to be a busy but exciting time."

Head Honcho Posted 21 July 2006 Posted 21 July 2006 A typical example of a one dimensional manager! He's quite a good coach but tactically the man doesn't have a clue he had 2 good seasons at Sunderland the 2004/5 promotion season was down to Elliott and Stewart banging in about 60 goals between them and the rest of the division being rubbish! uninspirational I think the word is!

Ultra Posted 21 July 2006 Posted 21 July 2006 Maybe, but not next season. Most of their decent players (Lescott, Miller, Cameron) have all left.
