Matt Fryatt is hoping to score the goals to fire Leicester City into the top six of The Championship.

The Foxes help to get the new Football League season underway on Saturday when travelling to Luton Town, live on Sky Sports 2.

After spending time in the relegation zone last season, Leicester's fortunes improved after Rob Kelly took over as manager.

Fryatt's arrival from Walsall also aided the East Midlands side and the young striker has outlined the intention for the upcoming campaign.

"We want to be in the mix, like we did at the end of last season and do really well," Fryatt told Sky Sports News.

"We were in the top six come the last 20 games, as such, and we'd like to continue that form.

"Birmingham and West Brom have got money and kept the players who have come down.

"But we've got the players already in the squad and added a few additions to that. We believe we've got a good enough squad to compete.

"There is a belief inside the club that we know what we are capable of. The season starts on Saturday and we are going to show that belief."

The 20-year-old netted six goals after his arrival from Walsall and hopes he can knock a few more in over the coming months.

He added: "Obviously I scored goals at Walsall to get this move to Leicester and since I joined Leicester things went well here.

"We kicked on near the back-end of next season and hopefully we can do this at the start of this season."

Well at least he is optimistic. :)

The heat is on, the time is right,

It's time for you, for you to play the game.

'Cause people are coming, everyone's trying,

Trying to be the best that they can,

When they're going for... going for... Gold.
