Nebdingo Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 Confused.com worked well for me too. My renewal in may was over £800... finally got it for £525!! Fully comp with all the trimmings!! you can never go by "word of mouth" with insurance companys, whats good for one may not be good for another. depending on age, postcode, use for work, garaged, imobilised, tracker etc etc!!! you just have to shop around for the best deal!
Daggers Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 How boring is it shopping around for a renewal price! GRR! Not as boring as reading a thread where people are discussing insurance
Leicfox Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 Hehe! I just thought this year would be a bigger difference with me being 25! It all goes on how many years no claims you have, if your've been driving since you were 17 and also had insurance you should see a good differance as you'll have 8yrs no claim providing you aint had an accident and claimed. It also goes on your post code now too i have a t-reg vauxhall omega cdx 2.5 and i moved house to the country but for some reason my insurance went up £50 even though its quite and no crime what so ever.
cisono Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 My renewal price is £560.70! 2 Years NCB! Fully Comp Legal Courtesy Car Windscreen Excess of £250 which is about right The best I found so far is (£614), which is worse than your quote. However, have you tried getting a quote without additional drivers? (especially if they already have comprehensive insurance for another car, they should be able to occasionally use your car getting third-party cover) Without additional drivers, it comes down to £577. I am trying a few more... but need to know exactly your car model and engine size.
Phube Posted 11 August 2006 Posted 11 August 2006 I've always found Direct Line to be one of ther cheapest!! But I've never needed to make a claim so I couldn't tell you about that side of it...

It does depend on your postcode too... when my brother moved from Leicester to Basingstoke, his insurance premium plummeted to about £270! (Not sure if that is enough to make you move there though )
Shum Posted 15 August 2006 Author Posted 15 August 2006 All sorted! Thanks for all the help people! Blagged a little to my current insurer, added my partner, and they discounted another 50 odd quid from the renewal price!
