Ipswich Player Ratings

Recommended Posts

Henderson - 7

Wasn't really tested much as Ipswich created very little. Handling was good, in addition to some solid punches from crosses/corners.

Kenton - 7

Apart from the first 10 minutes when he was caught out twice, it was another decent performance. Linked up well with Low down the right with his overlapping runs.

McCarthy - 7

Him and Kisnorbo seemed to struggle against Alan Lee in the air, and were lucky not to give away more free kicks around the area with their rash aerial challenges. However, McCarthy eventually got to grips with him and was solid for the most part.

Kisnorbo - 7

Some good challenges and interceptions, and looked more assured than on Tuesday night. Distribution still a bit iffy though.

Skills - 7

Restored some balance to the left side and provided good cover for McCarthy and Kisnorbo. Was partly at fault for their goal as it was his loose pass that gave the ball away.

Low - 7

Not the quickest, but he added width and service from the right. He showed you don't need to beat a player to put in a good cross. As well as that, his work rate was superb, always closing down their full back (Harding) whenever he got the ball. A Kenton/Low right side provided much moe of a threat than Stearman/Maybury.

Johnson - 7

Much improved from Tuesday night. Looked more controlled when in posession of the ball and kept things moving in midfield. Another player who's work rate was excellent.

Hughes - 7

He seemed to get himself involved a lot more, asserting himself in midfield. Showed some nice touches and his passing was generally good. However, along with Skills, he was partly at fault for their goal as a result of a poor clearance.

Tiatto - 7

Credit where credit is due. I thought he played well until he had to go off with an injury. He actually played with discipline and seemed to give more thought to what he wanted to do with the ball.

Fryatt - 8

He didn't score, but some of his touches and build up play was brilliant. The way he receives the ball and can turn defenders in an instant makes us a threat when the ball is played to feet.

Hammond - 6

Tried hard, but didn't retain the ball well enough.

Subs:

Porter - 7

Kept things nice and simple when he came on. Helped Skills out defensively and got himself involved. In addition to that, he put in some cracking deep corners.

Hume - N/A

Not on long enough to give a rating, but he took his goal well.

Weso - Again, not on long enough.

We can still do that and give them the same rating <_<

And are you talking about the clearance that gave the ball to Richards? If you are I'm sure that was Hughes..

I wasn't. I was talking about giving the ball away in the first place. Hughes did indeed give the final clearance away.
