Jay Posted 21 August 2006 Posted 21 August 2006 I wonder if having Smith helped them get Lupoli. Whereas we probably burned our boats with the both Smith and Arsenal. The whole situation didn't strike me as very clever or farsighted at the time. crazy... totally crazy your opinion that he was a a young lad and should be allowed to be an ar5ey little **** doesn't seem to told much wait on this one I am afraid!! I was under the impression that the idea of loaning out a young player was to give them experiance at first team level and to see if they have the mental attitude to succeed it seems obvious that with Ryan Smith his loan spell at Leicester and the reasons why Kelly sent him back probably confirmed what Wenger thought as he couldn't wait to ship him out on a permanent basis at the very first opportunity!!! to say we "burned our boats" is total nosense!!
Head Honcho Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 Such as? Scowcroft? Connolly? Playing at a much higher level Ade Akinbiyi had an almost identical record as Fryatt's after 22 games. That's just one example. Today is the day that Matty Fryatt must step up to the plate and show us what he can do not what he has the potential to do. It took Scowcroft 22 games to get his 6 and Connolly 29 games. It actually took Akinbiyi 26 games but for many of them he was substituted for Benjamin after 70 minutes
