Ikon_Klow Posted 29 November 2004 Posted 29 November 2004 The official site claims that Wilcox is doing well and might still feature this season. In my opinion he has no chance. Thirty-three year old winger with dodgy knees, I think he has played his last game for us.
Guest Posted 29 November 2004 Posted 29 November 2004 I don't think he'll be back either, but fair play to him if he's trying though.
Ash Posted 29 November 2004 Posted 29 November 2004 Well with a Australian team interested in Tiatto , i would mind him gaining fitness before the end of the season , as he maybe need !
MON Posted 29 November 2004 Posted 29 November 2004 i'm afraid that we should pay himm off, terminate his cotract by mutual consent. that would be the best option for the club. Then we can get some money off the wage bill, and try to get babayaro on loan from chelsea

Good luck to Wilcox, but it isnt as if we'll give him a new contract at the end of the season anyway B)
Mark Posted 29 November 2004 Posted 29 November 2004 He best not play another game for us, or even return to training. Levein might see something in training to offer him a contract for next season <_<
Hullfox Posted 29 November 2004 Posted 29 November 2004 If Wilcox has any sense he'll not accept a termination of contract if offered. He'll make full use of the club's medical and training facilities to give himself a chance in the shop window during the summer. Good luck to him I say.

Towards the end, before he got injured he was passing the ball about well and chasing back! Good luck to him and i wouldnt mind him as our reserve winger

Anish Posted 29 November 2004 Posted 29 November 2004 MON if the club terminated his contract they would have to pay ALL his future wages (up til the end of the season when his contract ends) so they will not be saving money off the wage bill. It would cost the club more to get rid of him now then it would at the end of the season!

If he's on 3/4k a week that will cost the club 34*3.5=119k. Why not just pay it now, and then we will have some money off the wage bill, that shouldnt be there

I doubt LCFC have the money to pay Wilcox £119k right now - and even if they did, it would be a poor financial decision imo.

I'm trying not to sound really harsh on jason.

But I think he could make it back to training and get another contract, which would be stupid, good luck to him anyway.

His medical costs will be minimal for the club now as he will most likely be using resourses that have to be paid for anyway. Besides as Hullfox intimates what incentive is there for Wilcox to accept an early payoff and then have to pay for rehabilitation facilities. Face it paying Wilcox off at the full rate will provide not one single benefit to LCFC. I think you've lost this argument Mon.
