Deathside Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 If you were asked "Tell us about yourself" How would you start and relate it too etc. JANKS?! You after an new job Shum?
Janx Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 If you were asked "Tell us about yourself" How would you start and relate it too etc. JANKS?! Dont think this is a "trick" one matey, future employers genuinely want to know "what they are dealing with" They want to eliminate risk and make themselves feel comfortable about the type of person that is going to fit in to their environment. BE HONEST, people buy people (as well as skills) and in your case, your personality should shine through When I recruit people for my business, the core personality traits are FAR more important to me, but then thats taking that you have ticked the "technically able to do the job" boxes. Do you watch Dragons Den? there are two parts to a succesful investment product/person! Thats the same as a job interview really... can you do it or be trained to do it / are you the right person to join them If you are uncomfortable knowing how to tackle a question, then ask them to clarify... In this case "would you like to know about me the person or me the employee and my experiences to date?" You can pretty much start how the heck you like as long as they are hearing the right type of thing in the blurb... Something along the lines of I am an outgoing, enthusiastic guy, I have a great work ethic, and enjoy an active sporting life etc... they will ask things like "how would your friends describe you"... always go down some really good ones e.g Trustworthy, Generous, A grafter etc etc For Gawds sake if they give you the chance to SELL YOURSELF...DO IT!! Trust and work ethic are two imperatives that they have to hear though! PM me if you want more .... Im beginning to bore myself!

Janx Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 You da man! USE the Striker example.... it NEVER fails...or defender, whatever the job role is more related to but its a great way of selling your potential over your experience... which you tell me that you may b slightly lacking in right? When is it... and does your boss know you are on here?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 I've always been taught honesty is the best policy and you have to be true to yourself and not try to be someone you're not. So... I'm fairly lazy, I'll try and get out of doing work, I only want to work here for about six months til I find something proper to do, I like to be able to go on the internet when people aren't looking and I don't like people in general.
