A fox for life Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 just pointing out some facts... i'm sure this has been said elsewhere but if u take the last 7 games. 3 wins 2 draws 2 loses the 2 loses, An own goal, a penalty and a 25YD stunner... there is nothing we could have done about those goals its just unlucky. the Hull game was a joke, we had over 70% possession, 18 shots (13 OT) 13 corners and no goals to thier 4 shots (2 OT) no corners one goal... WBA game did anyone really expect a result we were unlucky not to get a point? The draws at Cov scum and Blunderland, both away games at intimidating grounds. and both unlucky not to win. the one department which worries me is the strikers. individually there good. but there not working well with the team. and were lacking the cutting edge in the final third, and needs help from the midfield. Leicester Till I Die....
dandannieldanok Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 Yes it doesn't look too bad with those statistics but we have only scored five, our first one away being today. Like yourself said, we lack a cutting edge. Mid-table at end of season is a safe bet.
AyewJoking Posted 16 September 2006 Posted 16 September 2006 Why oh why dont we put Hume in the hole? He would make chances and score a few himself. Johnson could stay back and pass the ball sideways and Weso could be his understudy. This management lark is easy

Blackwell, Robson and Levein are a case in point.
lcfc_jme Posted 20 September 2006 Posted 20 September 2006 Managers never satisfy everybody ever, FACT. No matter what results they make the team get, not everybody will be 100% satisfied, as the style of play will frustrate certain people.

Leicester Till I Die.... Dress it how you like but we weren't unlucky to lose against Hull or WBA and we weren't unlucky to draw at Sunderland and Coventry. What it emphasises is the folly of playing people who don't create and can't pass. We scored one goal in those matches and while the strikers may have been short of confidence or sharpness the overall problem, as you say, has been their near criminal lack of support. You don't win football matches against anyone if you don't score. I've been ridiculed for quoting crap matches against inferior opposition so let's forget those. In our last 12 League matches we've scored eight goals and three of those were against Ipswich. We've conceded 13 - our usual rate - and won only three times and lost six. That is relegation form and if things are going to change we've got to take the brakes off, stop playing part contributors and put together a complimentary attacking team with proper width and with people supporting from midfield into the box. Otherwise we'll be quoting similar statistics next month and the one after. We have to score 2/3 goals a game and that is what we should focus on.
Daggers Posted 20 September 2006 Posted 20 September 2006 Managers never satisfy everybody ever They should stop having affairs with secretaries then
lcfc_jme Posted 20 September 2006 Posted 20 September 2006 They should stop having affairs with secretaries then Which I agree with It isn't that common is it??
Thracian Posted 20 September 2006 Posted 20 September 2006 Easy? How come so many f*** *p then. Blackwell, Robson and Levein are a case in point. Because three out of 24 are successful each season so the dice are loaded against them. Mind you, the compensation for failure as a football manager, is hardly intollerable and football or its fringe employers often find something else even for multiple failures so mostly, though there are exceptions, it can't be a bad life.
