Jyry Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 How many good juniors are there in the Juniors-Team? Is it true that Max Gradel has played in Auxerre U 18's? Is Billy McKay ready for a first-team football? What is the situation of the promising player Ashley Chambers? Discussion about Juniors-team to here.
Jimmy Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 yes no nothing really not long done his gcse's
potter3 Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Has Gradel really? If so why would he come here?
Thracian Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Loads. They're top of the League by a distance and are averaging around five goals a game. The side is full of youth internationals. No Billy McKay's not ready for the first team despite scoring in every game this season. Chambers has been mainly on the bench and, probably because of that, certainly doesn't look as fit as last season which suggests he's not getting enough regular football which might have been for school reasons. But he scored a penalty and should have bagged three after coming on as a second half sub against Cardiff in an 8-0 win on Saturday. A fit Chambers would always be approaching first team standard but, otherwise, the players who look closest to the first team include Andy King who's a tall, attacking midfield player - like an old inside right really. He gets himself into the box regularly, has clever feet and can pass and support naturally. He's had lots of youth experience having been at Chelsea for many years. Eric Odihambo's another who's coming on fast. He's elusive, strong and has a good eye for goal as illustrated by hat-tricks in what I think was successive matches. Tom Tejan-Sie always impresses me as a busy midfield linkman and City's defence looks much stronger this year with Lycett a year older and Smedley/Magunda both capable regulars. The big problem is there's no longer an interim side for these lads on the way up the ladder. They seem far too strong for the Academy League and there's no reserve side which can provide alternative matches for the senior youngsters. It is a serious problem all round.

So if he's THAT good, why did they let him go?
lookwhaticando Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 So if he's THAT good, why did they let him go? Because Chelski were too busy tapping up everyone elses prospects to care about the loss of just one player.
Thracian Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 Because Chelski were too busy tapping up everyone elses prospects to care about the loss of just one player. The foreign influx was a big factor. He was highly rated by the coach according to a contact at the Chelsea end.
Jyry Posted 26 September 2006 Author Posted 26 September 2006 But the Max Gradel case. Is he how old and is he a English native. And is he a AM R or a WB.
bigneville Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 So if he's THAT good, why did they let him go? Muzzy Izzet mark 2.....
Jonbluefox9 Posted 26 September 2006 Posted 26 September 2006 But the Max Gradel case. Is he how old and is he a English native. And is he a AM R or a WB. He sounds French to me but I'm not a great one for accents. I'm not sure how old he is exactly but I only heard of him for the first time around this time a year ago and saw him play for the first time about December last year. He seems to be played out wide more often than not but I've seen him play straight down the middle up front for spells in games. Scored a great goal at the end of last season for the Academy at Filbert Way. Think he got two, maybe three that game but one was an overhead kick and was brilliantly executed.

He principally a right winger, fast, tricky and very direct who has a habit of scoring and did so at the rate of goal a game. For a couple of months and about eight matches just after last Christmas he actually scored in every game. Has been a regular scorer once more this season and notched one against Cardiff Saturday before being subbed at half-time. Fairly sure he's French and 18 or very close. He's a bit lippy with the referee when things go against him and is a bit lightweight.
