Lets Be having You Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 Coventry have rejected an approach from Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion for manager Micky Adams. The Baggies have been searching for a replacement boss since parting company with Bryan Robson on 18 September. Sky Blues managing director Paul Fletcher said in a statement: "Micky Adams is an important part of this club and an integral part of our plans. "He is doing a magnificent job, and we owe it to our fans and our players to keep him here."
lildave3 Posted 28 September 2006 Posted 28 September 2006 I would of thought they would have gone for an out-of-work manager, save them on the compensation. Even if they are after someone already at a club, why Adams? Surely there are better managers out there than him. Mike Newell, Dave Jones, Steve Cotterill, Andy Ritchie are just some that i would choose over Adams.
lookwhaticando Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 Adams has promoted a team from the CCC to the Premiership with no money... imagine what he could do at WBA with a strong squad and potentially some cash. That's the logic. He's also managed in the Premiership before. The same logic all applies for Jones which is why he was strongly rumoured to be in the running.
Stevosevic Posted 29 September 2006 Posted 29 September 2006 i would rather have Micky than Rob Kelly. I use to like winning, whether they were old players or not.
