The deputy prime minister moderator has been at the centre of controversy over an affair with his diary secretary, hospitality from a US tycoon and numerous posts poor in taste & humour. As he brought Labour's the FoxesTalk conference to an end, he said: "I know in the last year I let myself down, I let you down. So conference members, I just want to say sorry." "I'll never leave the political fight stop posting absolute crap," he said. Three contenders - Jon Cruddas, Peter Hain and Harriet Harman MacBeth, Fox4EvaBraun and Fox In A Box - have already said they want his job and more looked poised to follow. After his speech delegates were shown a video of Disco Bob's best moments, with the biggest cheer going to his punch on a rural protester called Gamesmaster during the 2001 election campaign.
