Guest Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 Things arent that bad yet. I doubt he'll ever take us back to the Premiership though. Gotta agree on that one. In all fairness, do I remember RK saying sometime before the season began that he predicted we'd be lying in/finish in the bottom 6 without cash to bring in players? I could be wrong on that one so don't take it as gospel, but if nothing else at least his fortune telling's up to scratch on that one Anyway, back on topic, I thin we should give RK a bit longer before calling for his head....

The way its going Kelly won't be here come May.
lcfc_jme Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 The way its going Kelly won't be here come May. And it'll be a good thing if things stay the way they are atm. I'd like him to succeed, but if he can't turn it around within the next 5 games then it'd be time to reconsider his position in charge.

I would like to think that if we are still no better off in 5 games, RK will admit defeat and step down. He's not a stubborn bast**d like CL was in waiting to be pushed for some compo' money, I think he does care about the club and would go in time to give a replacement a chance to do something before the end of the season.
Finnegan Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 There are times this forum frustrates me. The amount of people that honestly seem to believe we can just happily sack another manager in October of the season and be an exciting prospect for some other SuperManager is beyond me. We've got some of the worst turncoats, hypocrites (this is starting to sound like an Anti-Flag song) and bloodthirsty posters on the internet. Kelly was the saviour all of fifteen, sixteen odd footballing weeks ago and suddenly, because he hasn't managed to catch the Leprechaun and his pot of gold, sign Ronaldinho and win every game, he's Be'ilzibub? Everything isn't Hunky Dory, sure. But it's not going to be in the blink of the eye, either. We could have gotten Jose Mourinho and we'd still just be the shadow of a Premiership club, struggling in financial instability, bottom-to-mid table with no spenders. I'm waisting my time, I know. There'll be a fresh Kelly Out thread next week if we lose, I know, but I really needed to vent that. Christ, people.
The People's Hero Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 All correct... but we're still underperforming and I don't think Kelly is doing a very good job. Its nothing to do with money.. we have a squad which is fairly talented in my opinion... RK just can't get the best out of them.. he can't slot them in to an effective system or get them playing as an effective unit. I would also question his ability to motivate the side. Everything you say is true, but its not to excuse RK's shortcomings and I think it's in the best interests of the club to have somebody as at the helm.
Finnegan Posted 4 October 2006 Posted 4 October 2006 I agree with you, essentially. But I don't think Kelly's nescersarily a bad manager for those shortcomings. He's inexperienced and needs time to grow, so does the current team. We bring in another manager with new ideas and systems and we're going to have another mini transitional period (sure, we might get our New Manager Honeymoon, but we'll probably then get the slump, too!) and risk unsettling the young talent we're so desperate to hold on too.
