Ultra Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Iain Dowie's side slumped to their FIFTH straight Premiership defeat at Fulham tonight, and remain at the bottom of the Premiership. Their game at home to Watford on Saturday is probably the first relegation six-pointer of the season. Whoever loses that will have a VERY tough winter. But with the quality of players they have, surely Charlton should be doing better? Or is Dowie out of his depth in taking over from the veteran Alan Curbishley? Discuss..
Bert Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Charlton were on top 1st half, When Jensen came on the game changed big time. Charlton have nothing big to offer in midfield, they have has beens or players come back from injuries or players who just can't qite cut it. Top class strikeforce mind. I think it's Dowie though, not once under Curbs where they like this, now under Dowie......
lookwhaticando Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Following Curbs was always going to be a tall order. Dowie is proving how true that was. The squad hasn't changed a huge amount, and they've enough to remain in the league... but the way they're going, they'll be relegated by March. God help them if they suffer their usual late-season collapse in form, they'll set the lowest-point record.
Jon the Hat Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Curbs is hard to follow like MON, he got a limited squad to achieve more than expected. Charlton are in for a bit of what we've had, although hopefully they are a better managed club financially.
gatesheadfox Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 I would love charlton to go down. I've hated them ever since the day we were relegated and we sung for ages after the game in support of our team, just to go to a pub after the game to be told "curbishley is crap, would you lot be happy if leicester just settled with top 12 each season"..........after being relegated that day i couldnt believe their stupidity
gatesheadfox Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 I hope they go down, there a boring team. as are fulham, bolton, newcastle, chelsea, liverpool, everton........I'm getting sky sports taken out

Foxello Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Charlton are going down. Have you seen their defending recently? They make City look like Chelsea. They'll take Sheff Utd and (sorry) Watford
