Scow Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 Craig Levein admitted today that he was unable to put a timescale upon Ian Walker's return to first team action.Walker has been out since the end of August with a knee injury - and despite intensive medical treatment the England goalkeeper still remains a frustrated viewer from the sidelines. Levein made a move to bring in Arsenal goalkeeper Stuart Taylor on loan in a bid to bridge the void left by Walker and also second choice stopper Kevin Pressmen who picked up a hand injury during November. But now it looks like Walker could be out for longer than was originally hoped as the Foxes go into the busy Christmas period. Levein said: "Ian's knee isn't responding as well as we would have liked. I had a discussion with the medical team this morning about what the best way was for us to go forward. "Along with the physio and the doctor we will be speaking to Ian in the next two or three days with regard to how we are going to deal with it. "I really don't know when he will be back playing. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be anything for us to work on. He has had scans, ultrasound - the lot. "It maybe a case of pushing him back into training and taking it from there. Then if something happens at least we will have an area to look at. But we haven't decided what to do yet and it is something we will be discussing over the next couple of days." Link Hmmm, I'm not sure whether he'll play for us again. There seems to be no progress with the injury. We're being told one thing, then another, now no one knows. I imagine Levein will be attempting to secure Taylor on a permanent deal now.
dan_84 Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 has he had an op? maybe they should put him under the knife, to find the problem. im a goalkeeper and had a similar problem where ultra sounds etc didnt find anything, in the end i had an operation which found the problem. from there it was delt with...
Scow Posted 22 December 2004 Author Posted 22 December 2004 When he was first injured, an operation was suggested, but that would have put him out for the rest of the season apparently. They decided to rest the knee and see how it went, putting a time scale of around 6 weeks IIRC.
Guest Daniel Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 I was told by Ashov, who knows someone (you know how it is!) that Walker has a drugs problem, which is being covered up by the club. Dont take my word for it but i have heard this rumour at work aswel so i wonder...
Wellman Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 Do we have a Bosnich (spelling?) on our hands? If so, atleast Walker will play again, in 'The Match'
Macca4lcfc Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 if thats the case then why has he been in everyday getting treatment? and why was he on the treatment table when they told him how long he would be out for? some people jjust make up bullshit for the sake of it.
Guest Daniel Posted 22 December 2004 Posted 22 December 2004 And why has this come about? Drugs treatment probably, down the clinic.
Wilson Posted 23 December 2004 Posted 23 December 2004 He did seem to get injured suddenly & not alot has been said about him recently so the drugs rumour could be true
Cobbo Posted 23 December 2004 Posted 23 December 2004 He did seem to get injured suddenly & not alot has been said about him recently so the drugs rumour could be true 48934[/snapback] It was not suddenly, he had the problem for a while but played on a bit. It's why he was kicking left footed in the last few of the games he played.

MON Posted 25 December 2004 Posted 25 December 2004 What position do you play Macca. If its upfront you can't do much worse then Scowy, the way he is playing at the moment.
Macca4lcfc Posted 26 December 2004 Posted 26 December 2004 I play upfront! cant comment on scowy cos I havent seen enough first team matches lately! but i saw a few at the start of the season and i thought he looked good!
