Liverpool v Arsenal

Sorry if this is a thread somewhere else.

Just wanted to point out that managers are too quick 'to bite the hand that feeds them'. Ok the fixture list is a bit croweded for both clubs, but it is every year and will be while we play throught he winter months. However, at the time the ref called the game off the conditions where bad, ok safe for supporters, but you could not see the pitch properly. Sky Sports said all the supporters wanted the game to go ahead, how do they know that, did they interview them all. I would have been royally p*** if i would have paid £30+ for a ticket, to not be able to see certain areas of the pitch.

The first priority should not be what the managers want, or the 'poor' players on £40k a week - who could only train (i would pay to kick a ball on Anfields pitch) it is the fans. Safety first and then if they can enjoy the game fully.

Ok the fog cleared by kick-off time but the ref was not to know that. I can only dream of the excusses the managers (particullary Wenger) would have come up with if the game would have been played and they lost.

Plus how can Wenger see perfectly in fog, yet misses incidents two feet away from him in the clear, that man should be in the fantastic 4.

Rant over.

Wenger is an arse. the referee stood by the rules and called it off for safety reasons, imagine if he'd allowed the game to start if the conditions hadn't changed? he would have had to call it off part way in, which would have caused uproar from fans and whichever team was performing better at the time. also if the entire game had been played and arsenal lost he would have came out and complained about visability.............he's just a total whining tit, like me

in Grantham the fog last night was crazy you couldn't see 6ft in front of you, if it was anything like that the ref made the correct decision as it might of got worse later in the game and for fans going home!!

I am sick of the managers of big teams moaning about playing to many games, the simple fact is if you want to WIN things you HAVE to play matches you don't win anything sat on your arse!!

as you say it's about the fans and not about £60k a week footballers who might feel a bit tired

i thought the funniest issue they had with it was having to get a bus home because there were no flights out of liverpool due to the weather. i hope mr wenger complains to the flight operators too, disgraceful for them to take safety into the equation when they could have risked his team dying

Can you imagine Wenger moaning at the captain, wonder he did not order one of his young French 'wizz-kids' to take the helm and land the plane.

So, no playing football when it's a bit foggy (even though all parts of the pitch could be seen from the center circle).

Shall we cancel games when it is a bit too wet or cold as well?

How about too warm or snowy?

FFF, it's a game of sodding football & we live in Britain. I'm sure the fans that drove for 13 hours for nothing were delighted the game was called off.

SAFETY

Its not just the players being able to see all parts of the pitch from the centre circle, its the ability for 40,000 people to see where they are going to, in and from the stadium.

They wouldn't have been happy, but better than potential reading the next day - Liverpool 1 - Arsenal 0 (Fowler 52 mins), oh look at the bottom, two dead and 12 injured travelling home from game!

or our fans who travelled to plymouth last year to see it called off and then travel down again to see possibly the worse game of football ever

Well remembered, I'm glad I wasn't one of those fans. The game wasn't to bad though as it put the final nail in Levien's coffin.

I made the wasted trip the first time and couldn't make the replay :(

I feel sorry for Crewe fans who travelled last Tuesday to Tranmere to find the game postponed because of waterlogging. Then, to travel once again to Tranmere to find the game postponed because of fog. :P

at least it isnt that far.
