Libertine Posted 24 December 2006 Posted 24 December 2006 Just incase you don't know, there's a Christmas special of Mock The Week on tonight at 10.15pm.
Flynny Posted 24 December 2006 Posted 24 December 2006 One of my favourite shows. I liked it. The Hugh Dennis commentary bit was probably the best part of the show. "Resplendant in a curtain". "The queen is dressed differently because she... is the goalkeeper"
Libertine Posted 24 December 2006 Author Posted 24 December 2006 It was good. But I thought it was a new episode so I was a little disapointed.

David Mitchell on the first show, too. From the e-mail they sent me: We're also very pleased to announce that Mock The Week will be returning in the New Year. The first show is on Thursday January 11th, 2007, at 10pm on BBC 2, and joining host Dara O'Briain and regulars Hugh Dennis and Frankie Boyle, will be Russell Howard, David Mitchell, Andy Parsons and Mark Watson, who've all proved their worth on previous programmes.
Libertine Posted 24 December 2006 Author Posted 24 December 2006 Ah yes, I forgot about the new series. Got MTW as a friend MySpace.
Flynny Posted 24 December 2006 Posted 24 December 2006 Ah yes, I forgot about the new series. Got MTW as a friend MySpace. I'm on the mailing list, haha. It's really quite tragic, to be honest. Buzzcocks was pretty good tonight too.
Leonisco Posted 24 December 2006 Posted 24 December 2006 "All PE teachers are paedophiles. Discuss."   Best MTW line ever.
Flynny Posted 24 December 2006 Posted 24 December 2006 I much prefer "I bet you I can jump that ticket barrier!" and "Stringrays love foreplay". At least we're agreed that Boyle is just awesome.
Libertine Posted 24 December 2006 Author Posted 24 December 2006 Frankie and Dara are definitely the funniest I reckon. Absolutely hilarious.

Yeah, the bit where he was saying they should use Richard Hammond trying to remember his wedding day as an advert for safe driving had me in stitches.
Flynny Posted 24 December 2006 Posted 24 December 2006 Yeah, the bit where he was saying they should use Richard Hammond trying to remember his wedding day as an advert for safe driving had me in stitches. Haha, yeah, and the way Dara went off. I think that episode was just days after the accident. Class. Oh and I just found out he's only 34. I checked when Ed Bryne claimed they were the same age - I thought he was joking. I had him pegged at mid-50's at the very least.

Flynny Posted 24 December 2006 Posted 24 December 2006 I'd've said mid-50's would be a pretty conservative estimate. I had an inkling you knew it was me. Cover blown. Uh oh. You're not at home, right?
Leonisco Posted 25 December 2006 Posted 25 December 2006 I had an inkling you knew it was me. Cover blown. Uh oh. Not very good at this are you - only took me 8 days to realise. I worked it out when I realised that everything you posted about the Cardiff game was copied from what I was saying to you at the match. Plagiarist. You're not at home, right? Nah, I'm at me grandparents. Merry Christmas, mate.
MC Prussian Posted 25 December 2006 Posted 25 December 2006 This is the first time I've ever heard of this show, and the discussion on here has led me to watch a few excerpts on YouTube. I think it's a class show and just another example that a huge chunk of what I call "intelligent" TV shows actually originate from the U.K. It's a shame our TV stations aren't in for it, instead they put on replays or buy foreign dip-shit.
