I got it so it plays DVD's in surround sound but can't get it working so the tele is in surround sound. Does anyone have an idea of how to do it? Help would be very, very appreciated. The make is Samsung if that helps.

DVD's are mostly in Dolby Digital or DTS, whereas TV is broadcast in stereo except where the digital signal definitely states its in 5.1 surround. The way to tranform the stereo signal into surround sound is to convert it to Dolby pro-logic (fake surround) or 4 way stereo ie you have the same sound 2 channel output front and back but the center channel is unused. You will have to manually go into the set up menu and decide what you want the processor to do with the input signal. Most processors should do it automatically but they don't normally convert stereo into 5.1 pro-logic unless you tell it to. Hope this helps
