cisono Posted 28 January 2007 Posted 28 January 2007 just booked flights to Zagreb in march. any tips for me? also will I need a Visa??? Perhaps you should have checked first? I really doubt you will (unless you are referring to your credit card)
Filbert_Ross Posted 28 January 2007 Author Posted 28 January 2007 yeah I bet the old credit card will come out at some point!! just found out you dont need a visa. any idea how much beers etc cost over their??
Bert Posted 28 January 2007 Posted 28 January 2007 It's very cheap in Eastern Europe for beers. I thought you only needed a Visa if you was going to a different continent?

JoeyB Posted 28 January 2007 Posted 28 January 2007 luton. yeah them books are well handy, I wouldnt go anywhere without one of those guides. i work in the shop at the airport (EMA - notts- lesta- derby) and the amount of people who come up asking for them is rediculas especially when they go for the boring red ones when for an extra £1 they can get a blue one with an awsome map in it
cisono Posted 28 January 2007 Posted 28 January 2007 It's very cheap in Eastern Europe for beers. I thought you only needed a Visa if you was going to a different continent? That is not the actual rule as far as I know, but pretty much works like that.... In the past, you did need a visa to go to Czechoslovakia, Poland, East Germany...

cisono Posted 28 January 2007 Posted 28 January 2007 I went to Zagreb years ago. Cannot remember anything special. The first time I went to Prague a beer was like... 2p!
Chairman of the Bored Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 I went to Zagreb in the 80s and it was all I could do to keep the locals away from the blonde I was with. The place, to put it mildly, is a shit hole of the highest order. I'd get out into the country! Either that or nip up to Belgrade and remind the Red Star fans of our little altercation in Vienna a while back. They will welcome you with open arms.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 29 January 2007 Posted 29 January 2007 Sorry, didn't mean to put you off. It's probably had a lick of paint since when I went! I'm sure you'll have a great time, just don't drink the yoghurt tea.

To be fair, it has probably improved in the last 20+ years
