My latest suggestion could very much be the root of your troubles - I tried it myself.

Made my eyes water, to be fair.

As my PM says it works ok on another site. :dunno:

*scratches beard*

Hmmm.

You could do something totally unoriginal and hope it does the trick. Restart the program... or if you fancy being REALLY boldly unoriginal, you could restart your computer altogether. :P

Is that the professional approach, I can't remeber how that argument ended

Nah. Professionals actually fix problems at the top - enterprise systems.

Us regular folk suffer the Technical Support 'people' who offer an endless stream of obvious stalling tactics before declaring that obviously you need to give them money for the problem to be fixed. Serious stuff. :pinch:

There's nowt professional about rebooting. lol

PS: I noticed you didn't turn it on that time... ;)

Old habits and all that.

Have rebooted but still not automatic. :dunno:

Remember where you looked to find the value of 0 or 1 for the layout.SpellcheckDefault...

Try changing the value there to 2.

In the address bar: about:config

Filter for: spellcheckDefault

Double click that line and change the value to 2.

See if that does it.

For talking about PMs in the forum where everyone can see it. lol

i.e. using the forum as a sort of personal message board.

Well once I came out of the closet I saw no point in going back. Besides people might learn something from this.

I suppose I could move it to help & suggestions.

Changed it to 2 - no different.

hahaha

That tickles my fish. :P

Value '2' is supposedly the 'nuclear' option - it's supposed to make it spell check any and all text fields - which would be annoying if it worked because for things where you have to type your email, it would underline it in red. :blink:lol:unsure:

Well.... that's got me well and truly cornered. I don't know how to counter that.

It works elsewhere, but not here, which is what's truly baffling about it.

I'm at a loss for words.

I really am.

Seriously.

The following isn't a user suggestion for you davieG... desperation on my part. lol

Perhaps Mark would consider investigating some of the code that generates the add-reply page (look at the template files for add-reply or something).

Spell checking HTML forms? :dunno:

That shouldn't be an issue because it works for me here.

Back again, since updating to Version 2 I've lost my Session Recover option which, after searching the Mozilla site and help I see is a standard feature of this version.

Do you know how to reactivate this? Can you let me know how?

Sod it I feel thick today.

Thanks

http://wiki.mozilla.org/Session_Restore#Us...d_Configuration

For the 'Preferences' open the about:config page and adjust settings as needed.

I don't know which option you're looking for... browser.startup.page perhaps?

Setting that to 3 will restore your previous session by default... if that's what you're after?

Alternatively:

Tools->Options->Main-> Startup -> When Firefox starts: [show my windows and tabs from last time]
