Floating Fox Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 This was a lot worse than it ever was in England. Some of the vids on youtube are shocking to say the least.

No mate seriously, during the 80's we were like that every week. We've been responsible for some of the worst football violence in history, Liverpool V Juventus in paticular.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 What do you do about it though? The emphsis should be on the clubs to control its fans. If the fans don't behave then the club suffers. Thats my point of view. This will only work though if the hooligans are there for the football and just there to cause trouble and don't really give two hoots about the team. Up the ticket prices, modify the grounds, more Stewards, as you say heavy punishment for clubs if it happens and actually go through with them instead of letting clubs off on appeal. Most importanly of all recognise those responsible and ban them from football grounds as we like we have here. If nessacery lock the basterds up.

Geo V Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 Football is a game, football is about entertainment. Unfortuantely football has an ugly side and what happended last night was nothing short of a disgrace. Italian football needs to take a long hard look at its self. After the match fixing scandals, racial abuse issues and now this. If that had been England what what the worlds media be saying now? Banned from European football maybe? It is totally different in Italy and in places like Brazil and Argentina. In Italy its like a religion for them but they are to OTT
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 Wasn't that mainly Juventus fans that were causing the trouble? In a word Joe, no.
