And now we have an alchemist who's learning how to turn gold into base metal...

Don't tell me you're referring to this squad as 'gold'!

Scowy was a lot better and committed then, Elliott has been injured all season so saying that he doesn't get a look-in now is exaggeratíng it a bit. It's funny you don't mention Deano either, who actually did a job and combined well with Dickov and he too played a part with his 12-13 goals. Trev actually had an excellent run the last few months, and although Impey nor Sinclair were world beaters they were both better than Makin currently is! Walks in that season played great and he was undoubtedly the best keeper in the division (afterall he made the England squad then, when in the 1st division(!) and Green didn't ;) ) and he consistently made the team after promotion too. It's only 'cause Norwich are now in the Prem that Green got a look-in. Taggs was also solid then although he admittedly was injured a lot.

All the players I've mentioned there are better than their respective replacements now if you ask me... So I definitely think this team is weaker than the one that got promoted

largely inherited and was considerably inferior to this one

This is complete and utter bollcks.

Adams had a strong Goal Keeper who was by far the way the ebst in the League in Ian Walker. He had the best player in the league by a country mile not to mention a premiership class forward in Paul Dickov.

It was still a fantastic achievement but the first team he inherited was very strong and the best ion the division, wee just had a very small squad.

This years squad is nothing in comparison. We have nothing players upfront and the central midfield is one of the weakest in the division. Players like Nalis and Gujohnsson are a long way off promotion standard never mind a certain Muzzy Izzet's standards.

I suggest we give Levein a change to get his own players in before we judge, just like we ddin't know what Adams was really like until he was given the change to buy players and build his own team.

I don't think most neutrals then and certainly not now would rate Walker above Green of Norwich (who replaced him in the England squad remember?) and Shaka Hislop of Portsmouth. In fact others have speculated here whether Walker should be given the nod over Taylor when he is fit.

Without wishing to do run the keeper down, Walker was guilty of several lapses that season that cost us points. The flap at Forest, the free kick at home to Preston and Mark River's daisy cutter to name but a few.

There's no argument against Muzzy. But you might recall he missed large chunks of the season through injury. We still ground out results without him.

Dickov had a wonderful year and was the main reason why we were promoted. But remember when we got Connolly? Wasn't he supposed to be the ideal like-for-like replacement? Don't you remember that? And how we were then made favourites for the bounce back?

And that's all you can mention. Just three. What about the lesser lights eh? Elliott (who can't get a look in now), one of the boo boys favourites who nevertheless marshalled the defence superbly? Or 'Doorman' Frank who could stop a ten ton truck but couldn't pass to save his life?

Or how about the absolute dross. Impey and ROGERS to name but two (both trying to take Forest down). Your namesake featured in far too many. Then we were so greatful for 'pay as you play' NICKY SUMMERBUG (forgotten him haven't you) And then, last and very much least the simply unmentionable very junior 'cult hero.' (I know he didn't play that much but just thought I'd remind you about the general standard of our strength in depth)

I could go on...but there's no need because you tie yourself up in knots. If this squad was so good why did Adams have to release so many of them? And who was pressing him to do this? Could it have been us? Why? Because we knew how limited the squad was? It was awful to watch - but it did the business.

It was indeed a limited squad, a real piglet's ear of one. But we had a manager then who managed to make a rather large silk purse out of it.

And now we have an alchemist who's learning how to turn gold into base metal...

I'm sorry Chandler, I was going to remain passive in this argument but you've overstepped the mark. I fail to see how you can say that we had a dire team that did the business 2 years ago; no we didn't we had a very strong team comprised of players: premeirship proven players in Izzet, Walker, Dickov, and Deane to name a couple, we were incredibly lucky at the time to lose only really one player of note in Robbie Savage, leaving us basically with a fair cahnce of a promotion push!

Now you can shout me down all you want, but the reason we were promoted even with that team 2 seasons ago was because we got slng into administration, and the teamstuck together like glue trying their very hardest to get the club backto where it needed tobe in the top flight, we had passion pnache and a bit of zest of front in 'mr all over the park dickov' and in the middle with Muzzy the Don, these guys almost single handedly won us promotion, they had a passion for Leicester City football club and truly wanted to be here to do the business for us, we got promoted for that reason and pretty much thatreason alone, we had commitment!

Now we look at last season that bunch of players and some very decent signings in thatcher, ferdinand and the loan of Bent on paper had enough to hang in there but, mistakes and at times foolish management in our fall asleep in the last 10 minutes tactic lost it for us, you look at the facts Chandler, Micky Adams and his 80 minute men cost us over 20 points, enough for a midtable premiership position!

Muzzy was absent for large gaps last season, and we dearly missed him, I remember that horrid game at home to Chelsea when all the fans ame out full of promise expectig to see a strongish Leicester ide stand against Chelsea football team , then out strode Lilian Nalis instead of Muzzy whom we were later informed had picked up another knock, and the sighs went round, we'd seen Lilian play before, he was Adams main man, or so we were led to believe; the Frenchman he'd been chasing for 2years, and he was dire he coudn't cut in the premiership, frankly he was no stefan oakes talk about Muzzy Izzet!

So we write last season off in hope of a bright start this season only to see our best players fly the nest for 'personal reasons' and the like and stupid clauses arrising that had previously been unheard of! micky Adams finally has his chance to bring in his own men, we still have Walker, Scowy, Stewart, and Elliott that can do a job in this division as well as Dabizas, build a squad around them right and bring in complementary players right? WRONG, we get in has beens like Jason Wilcox and Nathan Blake, I admit I cringed when I saw these signing but left an open mind as I liked Micky/ I still do but he was in too deep, he needed to get away in the end after his team had proved ineffective under his management, Alan Cork was almost single handedly managing the team, I witnessed this myself at the Preston cup game as I sat right behind him, he didn't once talk top the players, he stood there chewing gum, Corky sorted it all out and tried to gee of the squad, I thought to myself at that point once and for all you've lost it Adams it's tie to step down, lone behold the next week he did just that, and now we have Craig Levein, for pity's sake Chandler I know you want to put your point across but you don't seem to understand Micky is gone, he's not ever coming back, Craig Levein is our new birhgt eyed manager, do not judge him on his last 6 games or whatever you are trying to do, give him the rest of the season, you watch us survive, and then judge after 12games next season, if you are still dissatisfied come and find me, and I'll be happy to hear what you've got to say, until then, please, please, please give it a rest!

Hey Chandler!

Honestly you are one cheerless fellow aren't you! You seem to have rose-tinted specs were MA is concerned. He did a good job, but his last set of signings let him down badly. MA did the gentlemany thing and quit, because he knew he couldn't get the best out of the players, and the performances were getting worse. Fair play to him for knowing when to quit, I just wish you did!

I have loads of respect for MA, but the squad he assembled are not playing to their potential. Now CL is stuck with them and having ago, can't you just support him for now and slag him off at the end of the season (if you have to slag him off at all that is).

I can't believe you've got know blind faith in the team...call yourself a Leicester fan! :P

Adams won us promotion with a squad that was largely inherited and was considerably inferior to this one, had the guts ripped out of it before the season commenced and was only sparsely supplemented with loanees for the duration.

no, we had no loanees in the squad. Getting rid of lee marshall, rowett (who was never fit) was hardly having the core ripped out of the squad.

According to my sources the performance of the team was not a major factor in Adam's resignation.

Why should I support Levein when you trashed Adams whose record was no worse and was at least improving?

Oh and don't give me that post Rotherham shit about the squad being no good. As stated till blue in the face - you never said that at the time.

Shame we've already played the Blades at home this season. I feel the need for another MON like rebellion...

Now that's the attitude of a real Leicester fan!

Woah there angry Chandler!

I don't believe I made any such sugestions about anyone. As far as I knew MA went because of the poor performances of a side who should be doing alot better...still if not then he should of at least have been considering it!

The side isn't perfoming and I think it's far to early to start blaming the new manager for another mans team.

I know MA got us promoted with a team not his own, but he did know the team pretty well before he took over them as he was the assistant to Basset! CL is getting to know the team and I think he should be given a chance.

I'm not trying to slag off your beloved MA, but face facts he ain't coming back! Now get behind the team and support them...THAT is a true Leicester fan!

Now chill out and have a pie!
