Lord Nibblington Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 It looks like they might win. And make the final. To get crushed by the Aussies 3 more times. Yay!
Lord Nibblington Posted 6 February 2007 Author Posted 6 February 2007 I'd be much happier if we bowled them out about nowish. Not sure I entirely trust Saj Mahmood to bowl the last over if they've still got a sniff.
Milky Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 It's tense, but what a fight by our boys after reaching rock bottom a couple of games ago

Lord Nibblington Posted 6 February 2007 Author Posted 6 February 2007 It's tense, but what a fight by our boys after reaching rock bottom a couple of games ago It's nice, aye. We're still a pretty crap ODI side though. I mean, seriously, the amount of extras we give away every innings for a start.
Milky Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 A draw is good enough for NZ, so it's 19 off the last over. come on saj let's see it home 15 off 3.
Lord Nibblington Posted 6 February 2007 Author Posted 6 February 2007 Saj could go for 20 couldn't he, it's never easy with us. Funny you should mention that....
Milky Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 yesssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well well well, would you believe it.
Milky Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 It looks like they might win. And make the final. To get crushed by the Aussies 3 more times. Yay! the 3rd final is only needed if it's 1-1
Lord Nibblington Posted 6 February 2007 Author Posted 6 February 2007 the 3rd final is only needed if it's 1-1 Okay. So we'll get crushed twice. You get my point.
Geo V Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 It would be ironic if we beat the Aussies in the finals though wouldnt it? Two wins on the bounce and its happy days again. BTW I was gutted Loye got dropped as he gets the innings going.
Lord Nibblington Posted 6 February 2007 Author Posted 6 February 2007 It would be ironic. It would probably be really bad for our ODI side as well. Simply because everyone would assume everything was ok, and nothing would be done to look at the fact we are, more often than not, rubbish.

Simply because everyone would assume everything was ok, and nothing would be done to look at the fact we are, more often than not, rubbish. I dont think there is too much choice for the selectors to be fair. Most seasons when I flick through the cricket scores on the old teletext I see the same names popping up at the top of the scoring charts and its usually the ones we already know about, the foreign players or old gits who I thought had retired years ago like Graham Hick and Mark Rampakash! I hope this series has given us the momentum to take to the WC and peak there because we have been useless at ODI cricket for years. We now have a decent looking side if we bring back James Anderson for Mahmood and Pietersen for I`m not sure who! i dont know who they drop for him!! Strauss???
Flynny Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 2 wins in a row counts as a roll for England, right? Still, that's probably our quota of wins for the year out. Disappointing to see both Loye and Bopara dumped, though. Especially Bopara who's not really had a chance after inexplicably being put in at 8 last match.
Lord Nibblington Posted 6 February 2007 Author Posted 6 February 2007 Someone I work with was saying it would be a nice end of tour for England if they could win the CB Series. He knows nothing about cricket. Ejit.
Flynny Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 Hahaha. It would be so good but it's quite obviously not happening bar some sort of miracle.
Lord Nibblington Posted 6 February 2007 Author Posted 6 February 2007 Hahaha. It would be so good but it's quite obviously not happening bar some sort of miracle. Like Ricky Pointing spontaneously combusting?
Milky Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 Hahaha. It would be so good but it's quite obviously not happening bar some sort of miracle. we beat them last match That's the problem with this country, bloody defeatist attitude all the time.
Lord Nibblington Posted 6 February 2007 Author Posted 6 February 2007 we beat them last match That's the problem with this country, bloody defeatist attitude all the time. That's like saying we beat Portsmouth the last time round. Ergo we'd beat them now.
Milky Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 That's like saying we beat Portsmouth the last time round. Ergo we'd beat them now. did we beat pompey a few days ago? errrrmm
Lord Nibblington Posted 6 February 2007 Author Posted 6 February 2007 did we beat pompey a few days ago? errrrmm And are the teams going to be completely different when they play next week? Errmmmm
Milky Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 And are the teams going to be completely different when they play next week? Errmmmm what, ponting? no symonds this time. who else?
Lord Nibblington Posted 6 February 2007 Author Posted 6 February 2007 what, ponting? no symonds this time. who else? Brett Lee. And who are we going to be playing? Think about it.
Simi Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 I really hope we bash the Aussies in the final of this just to shut them up for a minute.
