It's a disgrace that Broad hasn't had a real chance at this.

If he played for Kent or Surrey (which, let's face it, won't be long)... he'd be the golden boy of English Cricket by now.

Its the type of player that they should be trying to blood into the team instead of these idiotic rumours that we are bringing back Darren Gough FFS! I hope he gets a game ahead of Mahmood who is way too wayward for me but to his credit did bowl well in the last couple of overs against NZ the other day.

Mahmood has just begun to impress me a tiny little bit.

I'd still be tempted to get rid of him, Anderson and Plunkett if they don't all buck their ideas up big time over the next year or so.

Plunkett needs to imprive his bowling in the 1st few overs when the ball is swinging and he can be a great ODI player.

His batting is really helpful too.

To be fair, Anderson seemed to be hitting a decent patch of form before he crocked his back.

I think its a little harsh on players like Anderson who has been injured and to expect too much. Its just a shame the idiot selectors decided to continue his rehabilitation DURING the Ashes! He has been in great form in the ODI`s and is I think top 5 of the averages at 8 wickets at just over 20. Plunkett has been sitting on the sideline for months and hasnt played any cricket and has been thrust into the ODI team so we shouldnt be too harsh on him as he has looked recently. He has taken 9 wickets at an average of 19 which is very good and has chipped in with the bat. I wouldnt bother with Tremlett as the bloke runs in looking injured. He isnt fit so should forget about him until he is 100% ready. Mahmood is the weird one. He has been picked for teh Ashes but in some innings only bowled about 10 overs whilst the rest bowled 30+! I can remember him having a moan at whats the point of him being selected! I dont think they rate him that much but just play him as a lesser of evils!
