Telephone Interviews

Hi

I have a telephone interview in the morning for a FTSE top 50 company. I have had a couple of interviews in this format before but was such a long time ago. I've done my research so I'm fairly confident (plus my dads a director for the company so I'll probably mention that at some point) but does anyone know what questions they will most certainly ask?

Obviously I'm going to be asked about what I know about the company and why I want to job, but what other questions are likely to be asked with regards to my experience and education (for example: what's your biggest achievement? what are your strengths etc?

Will they play a trump card with a tricky question?

Any info?

Cheers

You'll be fine!

I once had a telephone interview for a job in New Zealand. Only I hadn't realised it was an interview: I thought it was a preliminary chat and continued chatting to this guy while working on my PC. A day later, I received a formal job offer from them! :P:thumbup:

What motivates you to succeed?

What have been your main achievements and why?

What are the key things you are looking for in a job and why?

What has been the biggest obstacle you've overcome?

How would your friends describe you?

What do you do when you are right and others disagree with you?

Describe a team that you have worked in - what was your contribution?

What difficulties have you had in teams - how were these resolved?

How would you define good communication skills?

What rewards do you expect from a job?

What challenges are you looking for in a position?

What can you contribute to this company?

remember to have a pen and paper handy for note taking, and ask some questions

The company hired an agency to do the interviews, but no one called me this morning (the interview was booked for 830am) so I rang a contact I found on the company web-site and one of the Directors interviewed me there and then on the phone.

Well done you! That would have gone down as a big plus for you.

What is the job?
