lookwhaticando Posted 24 February 2007 Share Posted 24 February 2007 Could someone please post an idiot's guide to posting pics - I have some chebbage research photos that I feel I ought to share. If the images are already online somewhere (i.e. you searched for them on google or something) then it's dead easy. You need to copy the picture's location. In Internet Explorer: Right click on the picture you wish to display, and hit 'Properties' In the properties box that pops up, there's a section for 'Address (URL)' - copy the URL that you see. In Firefox: Right click on the picture you wish to display, and hit 'Copy image location' Now you have the image location, you just need to include it inside a pair of IMG tags, like so: [img=http://bigpicture.typepad.com/writing/images/salmahayekcampari02.jpg] 'http://bigpicture.typepad.com/writing/images/salmahayekcampari02.jpg' is an example of an image's URL just to give you an idea of how it should look. If you're trying to show us a picture you've found in a magazine and scanned, you need to find somewhere to host the picture first. I recommend signing up for a photobucket account - http://www.photobucket.com Once you've signed up, you can upload the pictures... they will appear in grid pattern below the upload box. The neat thing about photobucket is that they provide you with the code for making the image appear in the forums - they include the IMG tags for you. All you do is click once inside the text area with the code, and it's copied for you... all you have to do then is paste the code into your forum post and you're done. Simi Posted 24 February 2007 Share Posted 24 February 2007 I use Photobucket which has never failed for me. LWICD has pretty much told you what you need to know.
dandannieldanok Posted 24 February 2007 Share Posted 24 February 2007 I use Photobucket which has never failed for me. Imageshack is also similarly reliable.
