Fox in a Box Posted 21 January 2005 Posted 21 January 2005 Well, lets see I know football has moved on tactically, but in a time where over paid average players kiss there badge at any club then move on to a higher salary. I think what is required at Leicester is a Solid, firm yet fair player who really does give 100% everygame for the club. WALSH was the prime example of the blood and Guts... remember 3-1 down against Arsenal....Levein need to show this to the current crop. Our next signing whatever position needs to have this attitude (CL was at hearts for years, a man in the same mould) We need a signing who will be a hero, and here for years to come.

That isn't an attribute that is easily identified. When Steve Walsh was signed for Leicester from Wigan i'm sure nobody could predict he'd be a Leicester legend and play for us for over ten years. We need continuity in our team and players that can form a foundation and feel they are really part of something at Leicester. That will build up our team spirit again and galvanize us like the 'foxes never quit' tag we used to have. One player who I believe is potentially the sort of player we need who is a 110%, hard as nails and has the talent to be a fans favourite is a young man named Stephen Dawson. The good thing is he'll cost us **** all as we already own him, all that needs to be done is to play him.

He's been on the bench a couple of times, but Levein has never bought him on. He's a central midfielder and plays very much like Roy Keane, good going forward and good defensively. Already been called up to Rep. Ireland Under 21 squad without playing in the first team for us. He's about to turn 19 and i'm astounded he hasn't played for us yet, rumour has it Man City are monitoring him as he is yet to sign a new contract with us (I hope that's untrue) Stearman was the lad who played at home against Reading. Both fantastic talents and it embarasses me that the likes of Dublin, Gemmill, Makin, Dabizas and co are allowed to play shit week after week and still walk in to the team. Yet these two wonderkids have been outstanding for our reserve team over the past 18 months and they struggle to get any recognition. That's what makes me sick.
