Thracian Posted 26 March 2007 Posted 26 March 2007 Fryatt possesses the quality that our squad so desperately lacks. Simple as. We'll see. But even if he does it will be no use if he doesn't prove fit enough or focused enough to use it.
Geo V Posted 26 March 2007 Posted 26 March 2007 I've praised Fryatt on lots of occasions. And have never vaguelly written his football obituary. Quite apart from all that I consider Fryatt to be an Academy product anyway - not our Academy but another who is only just into Championship level football and needs to understand that all he has will disappear without the right attitude and application. I might say exactly the same about Stearman . Stearman never cost us £750k and thats why you love going on about the "limited" Fryatt, because he cost us cash when we could be playing the mighty Dodds instead and saved a packet!
MBK Posted 26 March 2007 Posted 26 March 2007 We'll see. But even if he does it will be no use if he doesn't prove fit enough or focused enough to use it. To be fair on Fryatt, he had a problem with his ankle. Then the physio noted that the problem was extended because he was flat footed. He has new foot gear which will help him a lot especially when it comes to ball control and getting that extra bit of acceleration. This season his foot was like a gas pedal that was stuck to the car floor

You should have been a magician. You just pull one bit of fictitious nonsense out of the hat after another. A players cost might have some influence on whether Kelly picks him or not - and it might have some influence on certain fans as to their view of his ability - but it makes no difference at all to me. They can be free or cost millions. It is simply the effect they have the matters to me. You'll also be running out of invented adjectives to describe Dodds. Fryatt is limited. He doesn't have great pace. He doesn't have great height He isn't particularly strong in the air. He doesn't attack the near post particularly. He doesn't score from great range generally. He's not a free-kick specialist. He doesn't have the greatest awareness of team-mates runs. That's limited enough to me and gives some example of things he needs to improve.

That why he has age on his side so he can improve of cause with the right coach and mangement.
