Earns 50 grand a week and he can't pay off one off debt of 100 grand

No.

Earns 50 grand a week - allegedly.

Was declared bankrupt as part of a court action to reclaim an unpaid £100,000 invoice...which has been unpaid as a result of his chasing his action against his agent.

It was all in the article.

He probably loses something like 22-23k of that in taxes, to be fair, and ivory backscratchers ain't cheap either!

Right.. I guess it's fine to declare him bankrupt when he still earns upwards of 25k per-week.:whistle::P

His ability to pay the fine is not in dispute here.

25k a week or 2.5k a week, it doesn't matter... he'd probably have much more than a few hundred thousands in the bank anyway. Should easily have enough cash lying around to pay the debt - if he wanted to.

Clearly, though, he doesn't - so they've declared him bankrupt in an attempt to get him to pony up the cash. Silly stuff.

It just goes to show how dumb some footballers are. they wouldnt know how to pay the phone bill if they didnt have some ar$ewipe doing it for them. How he could let it get to this is madness. Of course it will be annulled because he can afford it but what an embarrasing situation for a person who earns so much money. I suppose it wont harm him much as he doesnt have to go and get a sofa on finance at DFS does he lol??!!

Which part of 'legal dispute' are people not hearing?

The debt of 100k is something he is liable for relates to a legal dispute in Norway. He's currently in dispute with his former agent about the way his money was invested - he's hardly going to pony up cash for a liability he doesn't think he should be well... liable for. :dunno:
