Is This Allowed?

After a little debate after a sunday league match the other day me and a few mates were discussing wether you could run back and hang from the crossbar as a free kick is being taken, if you were to run back and hang from the crossbar with your hands, dangling in the top corner and the ball hit your chest would you be penalised or is it allowed........??

I've often wondered this as well.... last minute of the game, 1-0 up... why can't you all just like... block the goal? 5 hanging from the crossbar, 5 on the line, and the keeper as well? Probably wouldn't be all that successful but if say it was a freekick and there was like 2 seconds left on the clock it might work.

If the ball hit your arm it would be a penalty, but you could take that risk :P

I seem to remember goalkeeper's can't jump up and pull the crossbar lower with their hands so presumably the same would apply. It's effectively using an artificial aide. Folks would be taking the field with all sorts next...

Henderson could have supersized gloves that extend across to either side of the goal and from top to bottom.

McAuley could used special sprung boots of the kind my plasterer uses to get at the ceilings without using a ladder.

The boots are strapped to his legs but are sprung so he can stoop down to reload his plaster board. Yet when at full height he stands close to seven feet tall.

Imagine McAuley standing 7 feet plus and being able to use the springs for aerial lift!.

Porter could have a pair too so he'd make five feet 10 and blend in more.

Hammond and Horsfield could have sticky boots so the ball struck to their feet and Hughes and Jarrett could both carry Ordnance Survey maps to give em an idea of where the attacking penalty area might be located. ..

Class, sheer class

But anyway, I'd have thought it's be allowed, theres nothing really wrong is there?

If that were to be done, it would be the funniest thing one would ever see in a football match.

Anyway, the laws of the game haven't seen major changes in ages, and with the countless number of games played all over the world... well, what I mean is: if that were legal, I'm sure we'd have heard of a team trying that already, so my best guess is that it's not. ;)

Fairly sure its actually not allowed. Yellow card for Unsporting Behaviour too possibly? Besides, the odds would be that you'd just end up getting sent off for handballing it on the line anyway so whats the point? :P

lol

I'd say Henderson could do with such gloves. Is there a rule against supersized gloves anyway?

In fact, they alll could do with the improvements you suggest. I would recommend doing this asap. Even if the whole squad was disqualified for the match and a default win was given to the opposition, it wouldn't really be worse than yesterday's match :P
