Floating Fox Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 It'll never work. Don't think I'd like it if we got took over and 50'000 Numpties (50% probably never been to a game) having a say on a club that they only started to even follow the results of becasue there percious £35 is involved. I hope it doesn't catch on.
davieG Posted 13 November 2007 Author Posted 13 November 2007 When it's all going wrong the crowd can sing 'We don't know what we're doing' Nicked from the Radio.
Fat Ron Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 I think the concept of taking over a club is good.... Having a voting system on certain issues would be good..... But as far as the tactics & team selection goes it has to be 1 man.
act smiley Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 I hope it doesn't catch on. Well, I'd like to think that it would help inspire supporters trusts and the like to try and run clubs, rather than more mad schemes about voting in players and whatever.
Sods Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 ebbsfleet , how exciting Whats wrong with that, surely better then a club that already has money.

Yeah I fullow support and encourage supporters of that team to buy out clubs etc thats why I love FCUnited so much but that basically like Derby, Leicester & forest fans all buying Notts County! Its crazy!

Webbo Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 Ebbsfleet?! I should have known it would be spitting distance from London. Another fooking cockney carve up. That'll be the last £35 they get from me.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 I joined today, my dad did also. Its £10 more than a City matchday ticket, at the end of the day.
Mack Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 I was looking forward to the day myfootball club finally annouced whow would be bought. However today negativity and sceptisism seems to have far outweighed and positive noises. People are quick to say wont work etc at all levels of the game. It's happened, no one can gain anything out of this apart from Ebbsfleet so why wont people give this scheme a fair chance?
Floating Fox Posted 13 November 2007 Posted 13 November 2007 I'm not complaining. Sounds a load of fun. Exactly. This is a football club we're talking about, a proper football club. It shouldn't be a bit of fun for fans from everyone around the country who've never seen them in they're life!!
shrood Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 It's happened, no one can gain anything out of this apart from Ebbsfleet so why wont people give this scheme a fair chance? Well I think all the other teams in the blue square have quite a lot to gain. Being pitted against a side picked by a bunch of champ manager playing white collar workers who probably will bother to travel to deepest darkest kent a couple of times before deciding they can't be fooked and just clicking whatever players were given the best ratings in the last games by some disabled on their forums. Can you imagine it? The majority people on here actually go to games but some still post some ridiculous shite in the 'your team for...' threads, based more on blind optimism (cough kaebi cough) than what will actually win us the game. With 95% of people not even going to games it will just be chaos. The counter argument to this seems to be that the manager will actually have the final say, in that case what's the point. The members vote for one thing and then the manager chooses something else because some of those players haven't performed well in training blah blah blah. People are just gunna get irate because they've paid their cash, had no say in what club was bought or what players/tactics are used. The geezer that set this up also seems to have A LOT to gain. I heard he pocketed something like 25% of the 35 quid for 'administration fees' hmmm. Also, as I understand it the £35 doesn't buy you a permanent stake but is just a years membership fee to allow you access to voting on matters etc. So who actually owns this 51% stake, him I guess? Who gets the money if it goes pear shaped and they have to sell up, him I guess?!
act smiley Posted 14 November 2007 Posted 14 November 2007 Actually, he doesn't own the stake, there's a proper trust for that I think, he just pockets the conspicuously sizable admin fees, like you said (£7 or something I think it was - works out as £250,000+ a year from what I can remember anyway).
