Fox 4 Life Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 Does this mean maybe Levein thinks out defence is ok, as i cant see us having much money after spemding £100k straight up and then having another possible £100k and wages, to spend on another defender, if so maybe he sees Stearman as a natural replacement to all the oldies when they finally leave i.e. dabizas and dublin?
Nationwider Posted 1 February 2005 Posted 1 February 2005 I think he'll be in for another CB before too long - possibly someone in the 27-30 age bracket as Heath and Stearman are both young and quite lightweight and Dabizas and Dublin represent the past. I reckon he'll get a big bruiser like Darren Moore. There's a couple of guys he'd probably like to bring in from Hearts, but they may be out of our price range.

Now Andy Webster there is a different kettle of fish, I'd have him in an instant. I do however, agree that we need to strengthen the defensive side of the team. This Kisnobro (sp) can play either midfield of defence and CL has been quoted saying we will be operating on a smaller squad with players doing double duties if required.

Levein said that on the official site. He obviously doesn't know the English game as well as he knows the SPL but in time he'll gain knowledge. We've made £136K from the FA Cup and if we beat Charlton we'll gain another £138K minimum. It would help us a lot because those figures don't include ticket revenue or live radio or TV broadcasts.
pafcfan10 Posted 2 February 2005 Posted 2 February 2005 our manager, bobby williamson, who came to us from hibs, has raided the SPL, with little fruit, apart from kouo (Matt Doumbe), the fans are pretty pissed off with him, he has made three signings from outside the SPL, and these players are much better i.e. brother of your player joey, bjarni gudjonsson, and porto loanee with european experience Akos (Buzsaky)

Levein on the other hand has signed 4 rather talented and coveted players from teams who finished in the top 3 last season.
