Birmingham City...

Aston Villa have voiced concerns over ticket prices for next month's derby trip to St Andrews.

Birmingham City have set ticket prices for the Sky TV game at £45 - a staggering £21 more than the most expensive away seat for the corresponding game at Villa Park.

As a consequence, club officials will gauge the demand for derby tickets before taking the full allocation for the trip to St Andrews.

We have been allocated 2,800 tickets for the St Andrews clash, with the initial 1,400 available on a 'sale or return' basis. The remaining 1,400 must be paid for whether or not they are sold.

Under Premier League rules, we must advise Birmingham City if we require the second allocation no later than one month prior to the game.

Therefore - to avoid paying for unused tickets - we will take bookings until the deadline for ordering the second allocation.

A spokesman told www.avfc.co.uk: "We feel the tickets are expensive and have voiced our concerns. Our away support is terrific wherever we play and I have no doubt there will be plenty of demand for these tickets.

"But we do not want to take our supporters for granted. £45 is a lot of money and we will gauge the demand before taking up the full allocation."

If advance sales are high enough we will take the second 1,400, if not we will issue refunds. Tickets will be posted out or refunds issued as soon as possible after the decision has been made.

With the exception of the away scheme members, all purchases from either allocation will be non refundable once we accept the second allocation.

It's nice to see clubs making an effort for the fans benefit....

Mad prices. £45 to watch an average Birmingham side. You can watch the Chelsea for roughly the same price...

The reason they have done this is because they know people will pay for them. Just like we all payed 31 quid at Forest.

I paid £39 to watch a Champions League game at Chelsea earlier this season.

Birmingham are a complete disgrace - I hope Aston Villa charge Birmingham fans £50 for the Villa Park game next season

which will just unfairly anger the Brum fans  afterall what do they have to do with the prices being so high? The FA should be able to take action against such gross exploitation..

Remember that Brum will also be charging their own fans the same prices, or more.
