Send us your views on Jewell's exit. Jewell guided The Latics to Premiership safety with a win at Sheffield United on the final day of the season. However, he will not be in charge for a third season in the Premiership as he has decided to step down from the JJB Stadium helm. Jewell in tandem with chairman Dave Whelan guided The Latics to the Premiership in 2005 and he has proved to be a hugely popular figure in the North West. He has expressed frustration this term with the club's failure to bring in big-name players and it would appear as if Jewell feels he has taken the club as far as he can. Sky Sports News are claiming Wigan are keen to make a swift appointment in order to hand the new man the entire summer to plan for next term. The club have called a 3pm press conference, with it expected they will confirm Jewell's departure.
