Some Facts:

Name: Matthieu Louis-Jean

Nationality: French

Date of Birth: 22/02/1976

Height: 5' 9" (176cm)

Weight: 11st 11lbs (74.91kg)

Position: Defender

Playing Position: Right Back

Squad Number: 2

Has been Forest's first choice right back for several years and is widely regarded as one of the best exponents of his art currently operating outside the Premiership.

He clocked-up 38 appearances last season and would have played even more games but for a couple of niggling injuries. The Frenchman is the longest serving player on The City Ground staff.

He initially joined the Club on loan from Le Havre and was thrust into action during the Premiership relegation season of 1998-99. He did enough to earn himself a permanent cross-Channel switch and has since proved to be a reliable servant of the Club.

If all goes according to plan, 'Matty' should clock up his 200th Forest appearance this season.

Place of Birth: France

Signed from: Le Havre

Transfer fee: £500,000

Forest League and Cup apps (to end of 2003-04season): 184 + 9 subs

Forest goals (to end of 2003-04 season): 3

Forest debut: 15/9/98 v Leyton Orient (Worthington Cup)

International Honours: France Under 21 (10 caps)

Previous Clubs: Le Havre

My cousin is a Forest fan and has never liked Louis Jean, he sees him as the weak link in the side.

No offence, but your cousin knows f all about football.

Best right back in the division.

Oops, I didnt mean to make any offence with that last post.

I just can't see it happening. His value to the team is much more than what anyone would be willing to pay for him.

Most forest fans believe he is the best right back in the division. Hes Mr Dependable and doesn't make a mistake. We laughed away a 750k bid from West Ham a while ago.

And you have Makin now anyway.

Don't get me wrong I like Impey...but only as a division one player...well out of his depth in the prem! Just don't see the point in us replacing Impey with someone else who isn't as good...but if you have faith in your man...

Still not convinced myself...sorry

Impey didn't replace Louis-Jean. I don't know about best in the division but MLJ is a pretty solid, reliable performer. His crossing isn't the best, though.
