lcfc_jme Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 whats happening with him? is he leaving preston i havent heard him linked anywhere since januaryor have i missed it and hes gone? I believe he wishes to play in the Premier League next season and stated that he may seek a move 'cos Preston failed to qualify for the playoffs this year. Everton were reportedly interested I think but as of yet nothing has been made of it. Watch this space...
Milky Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 It would seem preston are holding out to see just how much they can get, no point rushing the sale, wait until the prem clubs really need to get a striker in and lift the price tag a bit. Some reports say 8 million is the tag, bit expensive.
Simi Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 I can't see him going to any of the top six clubs. Every time I've seen him play he has done little to make me think he deserves a big move yet. But we shall see.

Father Ted Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Hes been linked with many clubs recently incl. Everton being at the top of the pack
Mort Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Sunderland are very keen to nab him and have the money to do so, Everton have also been mentioned.
Simi Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Sunderland are very keen to nab him and have the money to do so, Everton have also been mentioned. I think Sunderland would be a good move for him actually. Keane would give him the guidance he needs to progress more. Also with it being an exciting time with Sunderland he may well just fit in well.
lcfc_jme Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Everton wouldn't be a bad place for him to move (unless I'm mistaken, he supports them doesn't he?? ) in my opinion, but a team in the lower echelons of the Premiership would be more realistic for his first season up there should he make the jump and clubs aren't put off by the price tag.
Mort Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 I think both Keane and Moyles would be good managers for a player like Nugent... when he was linked with Sheff Utd i was a bit concerned because i really dont reckon Warnock would have developed him as effectivley as he could be with other managers at other clubs, as it stands Nugent has the potential to become a great player... just hope he winds up with a prem team we're his likley to be improved and nurtured.
Tubes Posted 27 May 2007 Author Posted 27 May 2007 i could actually see him going newcastle as sibierski has rejected a new contract on owen is going so they will need a new striker also look how much trouble they had signing one last summer but maybe that was just roeder
Father Ted Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Sunderland are very keen to nab him and have the money to do so, Everton have also been mentioned. Sunderland want to sign everyone, and thats not it, for big sums! I didn't think Niall Quinn was that rich??

I didn't think Niall Quinn was that rich?? i dont think it is just him pumping the money in is it? and also look how much they are getting for promotion and as far as i know they are hardly in huge debt

Father Ted Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 If the takeover is succesful and the reports are true about 100m over three seasons, I think Newcastle will be looking at a more prolific striker at the top level. OBAFEMI MARTINS????????

I feel sorry for Newcastle. They've been classed as a big club for years and years yet they haven't won anything in absolutely ages!! !
Simi Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 OBAFEMI MARTINS???????? I see what you're saying. But he has been injured lately. Martins and Nugent together? That doesn't work in my eyes. Neither really like to come and link up play from the midfield.
