Fox in a Box Posted 10 February 2005 Posted 10 February 2005 Ok, Dont bite, but who thinks that the NEWFOX board are doing a decent job. In the current football climate, given what they took over and LA MANGO affair I think they have done a decent job. MA got us up (or was it the old team?) and that saved us, we then had a revolving door with players coming and going. I think the board are doing a decent job, and do take on board what the fans a thinking (sometimes). TIM DAVIES is very articulate and well spoken. I dont want to going into minor gripes...... Well done so far, on the up? hopefully.
Steven Posted 10 February 2005 Posted 10 February 2005 Not very good at articulating their vision. What vision do they have for the club as a football/entertainment centre? Still take the fans for granted. <_<
fosseman Posted 10 February 2005 Posted 10 February 2005 Fair play to the Board. They have worked hard to keep the club going. There are bound to be things that irritate, but they could be far worse.
Guest Posted 10 February 2005 Posted 10 February 2005 It's hard to say; we're in a better position financially than when they took over, so they must be doing something right. However, I don't feel that things are right, if you know what I mean.
Fox in a Box Posted 10 February 2005 Author Posted 10 February 2005 Paul Mace needs shooting. 65144 SCOWY whys that. He is a decent man if you have ever spoken to him. Can you remember Martin George? or Shipman???

Teeno Posted 10 February 2005 Posted 10 February 2005 Tim Davies is a class bloke. I think they are doing allright, we have a decent manager now and I think we are ready to move foward.

His is the force behind the club. Making the club able to hold concerts will be good as it will bring in extra revenue and the stadium share is awesome because it means we will own the ground albeit with the tigers but it is better than renting the ground. Scowy I very much doubt that you have ever had a proper conversation with Mace as he is a good bloke doing a good job rather than Martin George who was an arrogant bloke.

BartonFox Posted 11 February 2005 Posted 11 February 2005 Good topic. Not at all happy with the current admin at LCFC, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the job they are attempting to do as I know it is difficult. However, since they took control after the sorry administration affair they have shown nothing but contempt to the fans with many crass money making initiatives. Most of the people involved are 'football fans' but don't really understand the game and that is to our detriment. Then add Paul Mace to the mix and . Lets starts with some of this season's achievements: 120 year anniversary - what a complete crock that is/was. Who else celebrates 120 years? Nothing more than a crass marketing scam to fleece those fans. Fosse Gold - once again a one off replica kit that's 2 in 1!!!!! Again at sickening attempt to fleece the fans and now they can't shift it. A sure fired money loser along with the rest of the 120 year guff that'll still be in discount bins this time next year. Pepsi Max Tournament - oh ya bleeder what an event, 2 obscure clubs from the lower reaches of Europes leagues and a team from India. That'll catch the publics intrest for sure. Conservative estimates place the losses for that weekend of utter crap at about 75 grand allegedly. Catering Contracts - Done well there? Really improved after the opening day disaster, then the 'Club' makes a public statement criticising the contracters. Well perhaps someone should have done his research before employing such an incompetant bunch. 3 Favourites - PA Announcer, Henry and Birch. seriously good job, why are they allowed to take a wage or expenses from the Club? La Manga report - where is it? "There will be no whitewash" I don't care which players it puts in a bad light we have a right to know what went on and who was responsible. Dave Bassett - why was he allowed to have such a significant say in the Club's operations? Foxes Trust - and the contempt shown to the organistation. Ground Share - lots of announcements about 'new pitch technology' now nothing. Ticket prices - no wonder we are operating 4,000 below the budgeted average attendance and that is why we will be getting ST applications out early to help cash flow!!!!!!! Great foresight there then. Football people or not it doesn't take a genius to work out people will not fork out 30 quid for Rotherham, Gillingham or Crewe. Kids-for-a-Quid / Fans Fixtures - there has been no where near as many as the last season in this division. In the intrests of fairness, I will say I was and still am pleased with the appointment of the current management team and the backing in recent acquisitions. And I know it's a difficult job but they need to sort themselves out. On a side note, those criticising Martin George. If it wasn't for him digging his heels in we would never have got Martin O'Neill. What ever else he has done 'wrong' is forgiven and always will be for that appointment.

You would think leicester city would learn to be in harmony with there fans as we are the ones keeping it afloat. Fleecing fans for 120 celeb merchandise was a sorry affair get over it. The board are open to ways of making moeny other ways now (concerts etc) which aint a bad thing. LCFC will live on and even playing scarboro on a wet tuesday in the rymans league id still be watching em

65440 Interesting thread - have to say having had conversations with many members, far more share the view of Scowy than Dynamite So Dynamite - when you started your conversations did the first thing uttered to you start with 'So have you bought the latest.......'

I took my niece (aged 6), and she was given a goody bag, with a couple of old programmes, a few pictures, and, you'll like this, a merchandise catalogue and a leaflet advertising half season season tickets. A current City employee who was there, and shall remain nameless, couldn't believe it, and told me that Mace was behind it. Shameless.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 12 February 2005 Posted 12 February 2005 I've only spoken to Mace once but it was at the start of last season and he said 'Do want to see what's in the bag?'. It was the new black shirt and he said it was for Curtis to hold for pictures. He began to say how good it is and and value for money. I don't want to shoot him but but I can see why some do.
Hoof Fox Posted 13 February 2005 Posted 13 February 2005 I think the new board have done a decent job in trying to stabilise the club financially, but I can understand fans who are fustrated with what appears to be a constant marketing / sales pitch, but in defence of the board, these are the people who invested and saved our club, and they have the best interests of the club at heart, although this can sometimes be misconstrued. The La Manga affair was handled as well as it could have been IMO, and when we had a managerial resignation, the new board did not panic and take a short term rash decision, they took their time and duly identified one of the up and coming managers in Britain and then sold him the club and its ambitions so well, that he left behind European football for mid table second division football. Every board makes mistakes, but I think we have a progressive, innovative board who in the majority seem quite open and honest. I would rather have this board than John Elsom who nearly bankrupted the club and allowed one of the worst managers in our history squander millions on unproven shite.
