Oli Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Nah keep Dion till the end of the season. After all he was frigging captain on saturday!!! 66437 He is a liability though, and deffiantly shouldn't be captain. No effort, no passion. Get Rid of him. 66443 That's just like most of the players though 66444 Other players aren't as bad, except for Slowcroft.

Carlo Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 You can get contracts like that though 66170 'tis true, Connoley had a contract when he was at West Ham that he had to start every game. 66382 I think that is utter garbage my friend ,having asked a few West Ham fans on the forum Check out Kumb.com for further info
Scow Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 I remember Adams dropped Scowcroft for the Bolton home game last year after a terrible performance against Newcastle. But then came on as sub in the first half after Bent was injured.
Teeno Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Bloody great news. Makin can #### off aswell now
Jonbluefox9 Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Glad to see Scowy's gone. I only hope for the sake of Ipswich fans or fans of whoever he joins in the summer that he puts a lot more effort in for them than he did for us. The only good that he did for us were the goals he got during the promotion year which were mainly scored when he was playing on the wing but apart from that he did very little. It was hard not to notice how much effort he put in when Levein first took over but he soon went back to his usual self. Anyway, good luck to him because he's going to need it if he's to find a new club in the summer. No doubt he'll be working like a trojan to impress Royle to gain a permanent deal. On the topic of Makin and Dublin, I don't see the point of either of them go before the end of the season. We have a lack of centre backs with Keown moving and Elliott retiring and as I've said before, the backroom staff feel Stearman needs to beef up a little before he is strong enough to play centre back. If we do go in for another player between now and the end of the season it will more than likely be a centre back. There's more of a case to get rid of Makin but we'll be kicking ourselves if we have a few injuries to full backs and he's gone, however poor he is. I know why people dislike Dublin but he can be very good in games like Leeds away and then make stupid mistakes in games like Blackpool at home plus many more. He's very inconsistent.
shen Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Levein has gone up in my estimation, I feckin love the guy now.Taking no shit, getting rid of all the crap the fans could blatantly see were bad players and signing younger players. Whether they are all scottish or not, he knows what he wants and won't stop at anything till he gets to where he wants to get. Pleasing to see. I wouldn't be surprised if Gemmill, Makin and Dion leave this week. 66415 We can't afford to let Dublin leave at this moment. Or let Makin leave. Dublin is our best centre-back. Makin is alright as back-up, as Canero seems to be injured/forgotten. Gemmil will go later this month, or maybe sooner. 66432 Of course we can afford to let Makin leave, we have Maybury, Canero and Stearman who can play right back. Now **** off Makin, and Dion. 66436 Makin can also play left-back though. What will we do if stewart or Tiatto get injured? 66439 Whats the cyhance of them both being injured at the same time? Very unlikely, and Canero has played left back before, for Kilmarnock. 66441 Maybury was left-back most of the time at Hearts and Canero can play there as well, so covering the left side shouldn't be so much of a problem. After having read these words from Makin, I say '**** OFF!'
Jonbluefox9 Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 I didn't like him before reading that so that doesn't change anything. Btw, anyone that has seen their second goal, what was Makin doing on the post? He seemed to reacts 10 seconds after the ball had crosse the line.
Anish Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 "I have to sort myself out, you never know in football what will happen."Makin was surprisingly substituted after an hour and knows he is not likely to figure in Craig Levein's future plans. He said: "He is the manager he makes the decisions, and he can do that. "My future here doesn't look promising but you have to accept that is part of football." Great news
