AARRGGGGH!

I've just seen the BBC website quoting Lungberg wants a £6milliion payoff to leave.

FOOKING HELL.

Shoot them all.

Ask 11 kids from North London to play free until they make the first team. Winner gets his wages.

It absolutely boils my blood.

Are there no fans left amongst the players at all????

I think we have to be realistic and these clubs make sheds loads of money for the staff and shareholders and these are the guys who actually sell the shirts and get the fans to stump up the crazy money to turn up, especially at Corporate world aka Arsenal FC.

I must admit I would rather that my heroes of yesteryear like Stevie Walsh, Ally Mauchlen and even Gordon Banks had a shed load of money after retirement and could enjoy a great life for putting a smile on my face down the years. Some of the old school players have had to sell their medals, old jerseys and other memorabilia due to lack of earnings as a player whilst the greedy directors were getting loaded. Now, we can safely say that this generation of player like a Ljungberg wont have to struggle after a short career in which they have been succesful.

Im glad the players are now in "power" and can do what they like as before a player could be sold with hardly any payoff and that was that.

Sorry but thats total bollocks.

Ive always appreciated that J Hill got rid of minimum wage and that players could earn decent wages, but...

Wages now are obscene (not players fault) but as we now see every day there must soon be a wage cap unless we want to totally ruin football in this country.

Sometimes all we seem to do is see footballers as a bunch of rich, stuck-up buggers who get paid too much and are arrogant with it. I feel sorry for them to be honest! As ridiculous as that sounds, the fact that they have little or no private life as anything they do will end up on some bloomin mobile and then youtube and added to that the disciplines that they should follow from what they eat to what they drink makes life all in all boring, regardless of what they earn and how biig there house is.

I`d much prefer to have a decent living where I can do what I like without worrying that I`ll be in the tabloids or even risk being in them anyway when innocent. You only have to look at what those slags did to our players in La Manga to realise that there lives arent as easy as we like to think they are.

ANyway, back to Ljunberg. We are in England and have the biggst TV deal in footy history, clubs are playing silly wages and silly trasfer fees for average players and clubs are raping us as fans on the price of a day out to watch the footy. Unless the prices drop and its cheaper for us, I`d much rather the players come out of it OK instead of the board of directors who add a few more million to their bank balances.

I understand wishing for more player power but I will be very surprised if there are any players (in the top 2/3 divs) incapable of retirement in the next 5 to 10 years.

Unlike us. :|

Speak for yourself. I'm retired already, haven't worked for 16 years.

I swear you're going to live off benefits and be on the dole for the rest of your life.

Its all relative and the D1/2 players will have made enough cash to invest it in a business or 5. I can remember years ago, maybe about 10 when I had my first job as a retail manager for a small business that a then pro-footballer and nobody, I think his name was Dwight Marshall who was playing for Luton in the 3rd tier came in to buy his 3rd missus a sofa lol and did in on credit and his pay astonished me because it was a heavy six figure salary. Im sure the wages have increased in the last decade and the lower players do all right and not many watch them.

The Premiership and Championship players deserve to earn big money because loads of us are interested in watching them play and Im all for the players having the opportunity to milk as much money as they can out of clubs where possible. I know I bloody would and have milked as much out of every employer that I have worked for so I can have a better way of life and that has given me the chance to try my own businesses in recent times. Milk the employer like a fat cow lol

What would you do for £6 million? That’s the question?

Mate I missed my chance when my dad didnt push me in sports so now I have the chance to mould my 8yo son in some insane parent way like Beyonces dad or maybe even the Williams sisters parents lol. He`ll make me my millions once I have turned him into a super sportsman whether he likes it or not lol

BTW I realize the money is obscene but Freddie has brought so many more female fans to Arsenal for some strange reason and Im sure has sold plenty of shirts for the club with his name on his back. He is on a great contract and if Arsenal want to break that contract and sell him early then they will have to pay. Arsenal can just keep him and let his contract run out and get fook all, just like Liverpool did with Steve McManaman!
