Anyone going? Ive never been to the Leicester one but the Notting Hill one is mad enough down here. Is it a big event as I cant remember it being in existence when I live din Leicester but that was over 13/14 years ago.

I would like to go to the Notting Hill one, never got round to it though!!

The Notting Hill one is great as the music is good, there are women everywhere and the food is great. Its also not as full of trouble as it was a good few years back and worth doing at least once . 20 years of the Leicester one hey? Weird as I can remember some friend of my sister going to a Midlands one in Birmingham when living up there but never the Leicester Carnival.

Rincewind Posted 31 July 2007 Posted 31 July 2007 It's beren going for quite a few years. It passes near where I live so I see it at the beginning and when they are on London Road. My holiday starts saturday so I may take a walk to Vicky Park at night and have a portion of curried goat with yam.. The party they have afterwards is supposed to be good. I worked with a West Indian (can't think of which island he came from one of the smaller ones) and he said it was a non-stop party.

Good Vibe and hope it went without any trouble. Always good to see loads of people of differnt backgrounds mixing in together!

Town was heaving when I strolled down to Mars Bar to meet someone at 11pm, heaving!! I was sober for first time since the smoking ban and boy you can smell a lot of stinky trumps

Too true,even at Vicky park we could smell the wacky backy..i nearly passed out!!!
