Daggers Posted 16 August 2007 Posted 16 August 2007 Restrictive Item Policy and Behaviour Restrictions These policies are based on the input provided by the six SOC’s, as well as documentation from the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship Canada 2002 and previous experiences of the NOC. FOOD AND BEVERAGE Policy: No outside food or drinks are permitted inside the stadium perimeter. This includes bottled water. CONCESSIONS Policy: All beverages containing alcohol must be served in a plastic cup and must all be poured by the vendor. Video cameras and large lenses used in professional photography are not permitted. ANIMALS Policy: No pets, with the exception of guide dogs for the visually impaired, will be permitted. DANGEROUS GOODS Policy: No dangerous, hazardous goods or illegal narcotics (weapons, knives, firearms, ammunition, explosives, gas canisters, spray canisters, flares, irritant, incendiary devices or imitations) will be allowed. No glass of any kind will be permitted. DISTURBANCE DEVICES Policy: No items that could impede the consistent view plane of spectators, create a loud noise or can be thrown around the seating bowl or onto the field will be permitted. This includes air horns, lasers, bicycles, inline skates, scooters, skateboards, balls, frisbees and umbrellas. FLAGS, BANNERS AND MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS Policy: Flags are permitted but the pole cannot exceed 60cm. The venue reserves the right to confiscate any banner that it deems offensive, racist, defamatory or commercial in nature. Large musical instruments (over 60 cm) such as large drums, guitars etc are not permitted. Whistles are strictly forbidden. AMBUSH MARKETING Policy: Coordinated attempts to promote non event partners and/or products through banners, t-shirts hats etc is strictly prohibited. These items will have to be removed/covered or the spectator will be asked to leave the premises. FIFA PolicyThere was a piece this month in WSC about the over-zealous stewarding of these rules...in particular a set of bagpipes that were allowed in but not allowed to be played. Looks crap for the future: I will stop going to matches when I am not allowed to take my own sandwiches, illegal narcotics, dog and skateboard. Did you go to any of the games Lookydo/Swiss?

Looks crap for the future: I will stop going to matches when I am not allowed to take my own sandwiches, illegal narcotics, dog and skateboard. Did you go to any of the games Lookydo/Swiss? I toyed with the idea of attending one of the games here in Ottawa... but as it happens, I just couldn't be arsed. I think USA v Brazil was the game I thought about attending... I certainly wasn't interested in Korea DPR or the other teams playing in Ottawa. Apparently, a friend of my brother was tasked with a security duty at the ground in Ottawa... all bottle caps had to be replaced with coca-cola ones. Allegedly. Oddly enough, the games in Ottawa sold pretty well... quite a few of the games sold out (26,500+ capacity). And... I met a scout for Bolton Wanderers at the airport. He mentioned he was scouting for the 'next big thing' for a Premiership side. I asked him which side he was watching for, he told me. We chatted a little. He left. I continued working. Outstanding.
MC Prussian Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 I got here too late, as the U20 WC was already over in August. I caught a few games of the Austrian team on TV, as the ORF channel broadcast all of them live (!). Since Switzerland wasn't participating, I wasn't all that keen on the tournament, either. Will see what it looks like @ the next Whitecaps game here on Saturday against Montreal.
Lillehamring Posted 17 August 2007 Posted 17 August 2007 isn't this pretty standard these days - i know you can't take anything into the walkers, not even yr umbrella (ella, ella). the scooter one made me smile, until i remember the story of the italians who took one into a game and threw it off the second teir and killed someone, but italians can apparently do what they like in football
