Thracian Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 So... um, do you want the ring or not? If you want money in time for the Chelsea game nip up to Portobello early as you can tomorrow morning (there'll be dealers there from 4.30). Take proper ID and offer to sign that the ring is legitimately yours to sell. Someone should give you a reasonable price. Unfortunately you might find they'll insist on asking you to say what you want. No harm in asking high and asking a bit lower somewhere else if you're not satisfied with the response. If it really cost £1,300 I'd imagine offers would range from £200-£350 if that helps. Basically between a fifth and a quarter of market value. Dealers can buy pretty good rings within the trade for that sort of money and are currently been offered so much "private" jewellery that they can afford to be mean.
The People's Hero Posted 20 October 2007 Author Posted 20 October 2007 Thanks. No one wants the thing round here. Looks like someone is going to end up getting a bizarre and really quite nice Christmas present. Just need to find someone with the correct sized finger.
