Rincewind Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 Just had a calamity. Put some T shirts in my wasaher and the bloody things gone wrong and flooded the kitchen, gone through the ceiling and into the communial passageway. Just had some people here helping to mop it up. Don't know why it happens. It has happened before but only when I put it on the higher heat level. When it gets to the refill cyle it doesnt stop so the water goes through the door. I may have to get a new one. The housing officer was not happy. She's moaning about the cost although she also told the workmen she wanted to know how bad it was for insurance purposes. Thing is as well I need the machine to wash my work shirts and other stuff. I'm off tomorrow but want to go to the Nottingham beer fest then I'm working untill Wednesday. So does anyone have any washing machine ftroubleshooting experience.. Off work in 20 minutes and will have to leave electricians and workmen to sort out the passageway. Bugger.

Guest Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 Have you tried to find your nearest laundrette? I'd try Yell.com, if I were you.
Geo V Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 That happened to me once and it was because somehow I was putting a load of crap down the sink that caused their to be a blockage in the pipes and it would always go tats up when I put the washing machine on, flooding the place. I slung a lod of acid type stuff down the plug hole and thankfully the problem hasn't arisen again. Hopefully your problem is something that simple. I`d advise you call out one of those free estimate dudes who come in and size up the problem and then get arsey when you dont commit to using their firm then and then

Rincewind Posted 19 October 2007 Author Posted 19 October 2007 In my job the whites have to be whiter than white as well as overdoing the BO stuff. I think it could be my sink as somebody suggested. No idea what is in the pipes. A lot of gunge goes down sometimes. I was speaking to my neighbour he has a friend who knows about washing machine and may look at it. I used to go to the laundrette when I first lived on my own. Too much hassle and not enough time now. I did start taking my work shirts and trousers to a cleaners. They came back smashing ironed and pressed but it was costing too much. I take two shirts to work. One to wear during the time that any inspectors may show up and a second best for going and coming from work which I change into after I lock a gate. After that only burglars may see me and I don't think they will shop me for not wearing my best tucker. The machine only goes wrong on the hotter tempatures and I was sure I set it on the cool wash. It doesnt empty after one of the cycles so flood when the rinse starts and spins with a machine full of water. I may have to invest in another. Its about 5 years old at least. Bit of a bugger cos there are other things that I want. A fridge freezer and a laptop being two. Cant afford them all. Oh well I can still spend a few pennys at the beer fest today and get back to worrying about lifes little ups and downs tomorrow. Good health. . (insert beer smiley of your choice)
