Sods Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 I didnt see it as a disgrace and yeah it wasnt entertaining but I wasn't at all disappointed with the game. It came at the end of a crazy week with the Clive Clarke incident and losing the manager so I think playing for the draw was fine and I certainly wasn't disappointed with getting a point out of it. Last season we went there and Im assuming we tried to be a bit more attacking and got stuffed 3-0.....I know which result I'd rather have! Thats a game im proud to have gone to, even prouder than going to the villa game. I went home smiling because i knew i would laugh in weeks to come.
ASH17LCFC Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 I would never stop supporting leicester. What im saying is that away games are a waste of money these days. You go football to have a good time and support your team. Its not the team playing crap what upset me so much. Its the style what we set out in. Playing for 1- nils and playing 7 defensive players. I've notice aswell are away turnout as started to drop to under a thousand during the years. I guess people are fed up of paying good money to watch boring football ... Not like we are attacking at all.

Bottom of the league we was, pleats era has been suggested as one of the worst by a lot others. I wouldnt know as i wasnt born. The leicester end was packed out, nowadays i think we wouldnt mange 400.
Geo V Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 We need the next breed of fans to come through but lets be honest, these kids can probably make more noise than our bunch of quiet fans anyway. OK they may be high pitch and sound embarrassing but at least they`ll probably try and get involved and not come out with the same lame excuse for not seeing because they get embarrassed! I can remember going to my first match aged about 14 and my 12yo brother tagged along. I sat in the double decker at Filbo and the noise was so loud, especially from below in the penns that I was instantly hooked. I thank the older brigade for making that noise because they were the main reason why I came back and slowly but surely ended up in Penn 3. I cant see the young kids of today being inspired by our library section so lets hope it doesn't put them off.
Thracian Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 So don't go. But this club would die without fans like Ched, Tommeh, Lisa and to a lesser extent myself given that I didn't go to the S****horpe game. You should respect any willingness to support the club through thick and thin. You're right I suppose but there's a part of me that says if people do stop attending because of the club's continued over-emphasis on negative, defensive football then it might force a change of attitude. Unfortunately, while we have fans who will put up with any shit so long as we win 1-0 (which we don't but that fact seems to be continually ignored) I don't see that happening. Weekends it is hard for me to travel long distances anyway but even midweek I've missed matches this season because I can see the sort of team we're going to put out and there's no chance of us playing any sort of exciting football. S****horpe was a good example, Charlton another. And nothing would have lured me to Plymouth. What did I miss? Not a solitary goal except the one that arsehole of a referee disallowed. Our travelling regulars clearly care deeply for the club but Mandaric takes the piss by overseeing and accepting such negativity and then being so smug as to say he "done the right thing". Megson has done a reasonable job in terms of results. But he's been everything his critics expected. Bloody boring. And the prospect of paying to watch such dross is increasing hard to justify. Because Leicester City today, in football entertainment terms, are an embarrassment. Our squad is too big, too ordinary and there are any number of individuals who should never have got near a City shirt. Every day that situation persists is an insult to those travelling fans - but still they have faith, both in the club and even in certain players who should never be here. It may be blind faith because many have still not even seen some of the players they champion in action. But their faith is commendable nevertheless. But having and showing that faith doesn't help change anything. Quite the opposite really. Each to their own philosophy I suppose.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Im not a true support i don't go to games
Guest Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 I just can't go because I can't afford it. That's fair enough, different people, different lives. Some here may disagree, but I'm not one of the club's greatest supporters because I go to all the games regardless. In some ways I envy people who can make that decision not to go. Like tonight, when it will be cold, we're playing uninspiring football, and Robson is getting a stay of execution by beating us!! Im not a true support i don't go to games I think you have a perfectly valid excuse.
Simi Posted 23 October 2007 Author Posted 23 October 2007 I'd love to hear what the club thought to that 'special atmosphere under the lights' tonight.
Guest Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 I've changed my mind about letting kids in. Especially ones who spend 90 minutes kicking the back of the seat in front.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 It was like a f**king creche at the back of the Kop tonight.

ASH17LCFC Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 It was like a f**king creche at the back of the Kop tonight. At the back of the kop tonight, This lad was chanting for Megson and shouting ... Sing his forking name, he is are manager ... Then at the end chanted ... Megson for bolton and what aload of rubbish ... Also im sick of the great escape and will not sing it. Its crap and i rather sing real songs.

When we were in the Premiership (I know, hard to believe), there was a forum meeting where this woman said that she refused to take her kids into the North Stand because those nasty away supporters spend the whole match using foul language, and were abusive and threatening and she did not want her children subjected to that kind of behaviour. There is a simple solution to this....

Of course there is but the Club and the police don't want the hassle.
