ASH17LCFC Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 Not on about the day out. On about the football on the pitch was so dire and even the SkySports people had to try and keep awake watching it. Making excuses like ... Leicester don't ship goals or Leicester are not a pretty side ... I rather pay my money and watch a entertaining game of football and even if we lose, walk away and say .. well atleast they tried and what a good game. Why jimmy bloomfield style of football was so popular down here, Just play to win and entertained the crowd. Why is the walkers so quiet ? The crap football on the pitch, like how can anyone muster any passion from the football we play. I'm not gonna waste any more money watching us away, not worth it.
Guest Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 To play entertaining football, you need the players for it. We lack invention and creativity so much, that I think that we will only get it back by bringing in the right personnel. To be honest, I'm glad that we don't look like conceding as easily as we have done in the recent past, and would hope that it gives us something to build on in the (not too distant....?) future.

Thats is the main problem, Are midfield is not good enough. We need someone in there with abit of flair and a killer ball but we haven't got anyone. On saturday we had Stearman Sheehan N Gotty Kisnorbo McAuley Chambers Clemence All on the pitch, thats 7 defensive players on the pitch ! We go 1-0 down and its game over for us. Why play with 7 defensive players on the pitch ? Why have 2 wingbacks who don't get past the halfway line enough ? We need a someone in there who can win us a game and at this time. We haven't got that player, saying that i don't think Megson wants that kinda player. He is happy to stick 7 players on the pitch who main job is to defend. Leaves 3 players to attack and try and make something happen. The football is the worst, ive ever seen down at leicester.
Simi Posted 22 October 2007 Author Posted 22 October 2007 True, who is gonna want to come back after watching the most boring 90 mins of football there'll ever see. Saturday was a new low in my eyes. We went to s****hrope and played for a draw ... WE WENT TO S****HROPE AND PLAYED FOR THE DRAW !!! I don't care how good s****hrope are doing at home, we should never go to the likes of s****hrope and play for a draw. In my 14 years of supporting leicester, THAT was the worst 90 mins i've ever sat through. The football is complete and utter dire. I would rather just attack for 90 mins then sit through that again. Why the forest fans hate him so much becase of the style of football he plays ... Its just plain boring and who's gonna waste there money watching it. See ya later.... How many years is it since you've missed a match now Lisa? On the train from Charlton I'm sure you said something like 10 years... Flippin' part timers.
ASH17LCFC Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 How many years is it since you've missed a match now Lisa?On the train from Charlton I'm sure you said something like 10 years... Flippin' part timers. Well i knew someone, who hasn't missed a game since the 88 season home and away but has stop going because of how dire the football is getting. Alot of loyal leicester fans have stop going away now because it isn't worth it. Take saturday you made some noice and all. Still the match was complete and utter crap. Alright having a grand day out but i go and follow leicester away for the whole point of watching the match.
Tommeh Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 Actually its rare if I dont enjoy an away day these days. Even when the football is crap and its bitterly cold, you're still out and having a laugh with mates. Charlton away was absolute crap on the pitch this season but I still enjoyed the day as a whole and I don't regret going! Exactly well said. I really enjoyed sat if I'm honest likewise charlton. the only one which got me was plymouth - long journey, poor game, bad stewards, no atmosphere but at least we got the point we came for. All these people moaning how boring the game was on saturday should maybe try coming, I dont know how the atmosphere sounded on the tele but I thought it was pretty good and as always good banter between us as fans. Also the chance to see people who I only know through the footie.

Of course I watch the match, but my enjoyment is made from the day out, from getting on the train with my mates, walking through turnstiles and getting that buzz that only a football fan can get.

I go for the game 1st.
Tommeh Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 So lets pay 40 quid to have a sing song for 90 mins and have some banter with the away fans. What about the game ? I go for the game 1st. £40???/ well for one saturday cost me £11 for a ticket plus a bit in fuel so more like £20 Ched's just summed the latter part of my argument up in the post above.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 So lets pay 40 quid to have a sing song for 90 mins and have some banter with the away fans. What about the game ? I go for the game 1st. So don't go. But this club would die without fans like Ched, Tommeh, Lisa and to a lesser extent myself given that I didn't go to the S****horpe game. You should respect any willingness to support the club through thick and thin.
ASH17LCFC Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 Well don't you get sick of watching crap football, week after week ? All good having the away buzz and i admitt its great going away to follow leicester but enough is enough. Going places like Plymouth and watching us not even attack and play for a draw ... Its a insult to the fans who make that long jorney south. You notice over the years leicester away support has dropped in huge numbers. I use to go away all the time but now can muster about 7-8 games a season away.

Let's face it we are not going to see great football, it's down to you whether you go or not, but you can't tell me you go to places like Plymouth where we've been awful for years and expect us to play some great football. I cannot pick an away day that I've ever been to that I can't say I've enjoyed.

Im not calling the fans. Im saying its a insult too the fans the style of football we play. Not lets have a good go today lads. Its lets stick 7 players behind the ball and defend for 90 mins.

Unlike others who fanny around and go to matches they want to go to, when they feel like it.
ASH17LCFC Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 We call this support. Commitment. Unlike others who fanny around and go to matches they want to go to, when they feel like it. Or people who have follow leicester for years and are sick of the last 4 years of crap. Don't make out people who don't go to every away game now aren't real leicester fans.

ASH17LCFC Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 You support them for years, you carry on supporting them for more years. End of. You never stop supporting leicester end of. Still you can get sick of the dire football we play and choose not to attend every away game anymore. Saturday was a new low in terms of how we set out to play. Didn't even have 1 real shot the whole game but Megson was delightful in the way we set out. 7 defenders on the pitch ...
Guest Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 How many years is it since you've missed a match now Lisa?On the train from Charlton I'm sure you said something like 10 years... Flippin' part timers. 1995 was the last time I missed a game (not counting that Millwall away game, which never happened...). I am missing lectures to watch the Chelski game, naughty naughty. And the Cardiff home game. But next season, I will have to miss games, as it is my final year of Uni, and I want a good degree. I am already psyching myself up for it. I'll admit that I am fed up with the current standard, but I've seen enough crap over the years to know that the good times could be just around the corner. It's funny how it works out. Putting up with shit football will make me enjoy the good times even more when they arrive. This is one of the many reasons why I still go and support the team. I can see why some don't bother any more. I just can't bring myself to do it though.

Not armchair 'only watch us when we're on sky' fans. It's what makes us supporters.
ThurmastonFox Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 I don't necessarily mind the kids, it's the fecking horns they'll bring with them from the under 21 game. I can see me wanting to leave after 70mins again if there's an influx of horns!!!!

Didn't even have 1 real shot the whole game but Megson was delightful in the way we set out. 7 defenders on the pitch ... Got to disagree, I will go to watch us no-matter how poor we are, playing non-league standards - I would still follow us! I see what your saying that it is a disgrace setting out for a draw when fans have travelled 500 miles for game like plymouth but thats not why I don't go. It's just as much about the social aspect as it is the football. If you wanted to watch good free flowing football, stay at home & watch Arsenal on Sky.
filbertway Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 I just can't go because I can't afford it. Plus it will eventually be cheaper to just go for a piss up to a pub and watch coalville than waste the money on watching that shambles. Kudos to the people that fork out the money every week though No matter how much I call them idiots, you've got to respect it Edited as one can't spell.

I didnt see it as a disgrace and yeah it wasnt entertaining but I wasn't at all disappointed with the game. It came at the end of a crazy week with the Clive Clarke incident and losing the manager so I think playing for the draw was fine and I certainly wasn't disappointed with getting a point out of it. Last season we went there and Im assuming we tried to be a bit more attacking and got stuffed 3-0.....I know which result I'd rather have!
Sods Posted 22 October 2007 Posted 22 October 2007 Leicester City is my life im afraid, although the football is shocking i will still go. I used to travel 70 odd miles by bus for 2 years, when my dad thought he had enough with the walkers. He's back now, makes me apperiate the car and the m1 a lot more. I will always support leicester, even when income is low. I will manage it. Were shit right now, we all know that. The opposition shit as well, but for 5-6 years we were blessed in the prem. Like lisa said, we might turn that corner at any point and you will enjoy it more.
