SamL Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Leicester City head physio Dave Rennie says the medical staff are hopeful that the injury sustained by Levi Porter in the Carling Cup fourth round clash at Chelsea on Wednesday evening is not as serious as was originally feared. The young winger, who came into the game as a second half substitute on the evening, was stretchered from the field of play with City holding a 3-2 advantage against the holders. Fears around the dressing room after the game had suggested the player had damaged his cruciate ligament - an injury that can keep players out of action for up to a year. But Rennie confirmed that the initial signs were good and said the player could even be back in action as early as the New Year. He said: "Levi was hit on the outside of his knee, which then twisted. "He has strained one of the ligaments inside his knee - that we do know at the moment from our clinical examinations. "We sent him up to the BUPA hospital in Leicester for an MRI scan and the results of that will give us more of a detailed analysis on the extent of the damage. "It is all to do with his medial collateral ligament - not his cruciate. There is some risk that it will have gone on to damage his cruciate - but we won't know that until we see the results of the scan. "We won't be able to give an accurate time frame until we have seen the report, although my initial feelings are that he will be out for eight to 12 weeks - of which the first four weeks he will be on crutches." http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Lates...1157340,00.html
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Right after he came on, he went up for a ball with Wright-Phillips but then Belletti spoilt it by steaming in and winning the header himself. I was looking forward to clash of the midgets.
Cheese Me Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Good news. He seemed to do well last night and with our current shortage of decent midfielders I'm sure he'll have some part to play after the new year. Just needs to make sure he stays fit and healthy and doesn't spend a couple of months out on the p!ss
Raj Posted 1 November 2007 Posted 1 November 2007 Porter gets some shit from some people but i like him. When he is on his game he is an asset. Good luck to the Kidda
