Simi Posted 7 November 2007 Posted 7 November 2007 The fans are getting to Stearman. Indeed, it's true. Maybe he should actually try playing some football and not hoofing anything that comes near him, then see how the fans react to him. The first half was absolutely dreadful, more noise at a Sunday League game, it really was embarrassing, especially after Andy got treated the way he did. The second half, King manged to get his foot on the ball a lot more and he really did change the game quite a lot. Nothing spectacular but he actually managed to get the ball down and pick a pass, whereas others were just hoofing to Fryatt. We had the chances to win it, no doubt. But the again we could of easily lost that match.
eaststandtom Posted 7 November 2007 Posted 7 November 2007 Went to the game tonight and i thought we were very good value for the draw and should have won it especially from cort's one on one chance when his first touch let him down. 1st half was awful didn't seem interested and although preston scored they didn't really test Fulop and Fryatt had the best chance of the half. Second half different story. King i thought did very well and it helped to have someone who made simple passes to feet in the middle of the park.Fryatt, Kenton and N'gotty were plus points. Thought Fryatt was easily our most dangerous player and was very unlucky not to score as was the case against Colchester. Didn't think taking Campbell off was a bad decision as we needed to stabilise the midfield a bit more and still nearly won it. I also think Carl Cort is starting to finally pull his weight. Bright performance from the big man. Stearman has to be dropped. Lost concentration a couple of times and looks off the boil. Sort yourself out lad! I would pick Chambers in that position when clem, weso are fit. If we had two central midfielders i think we would have won the game comfortably. End of. good to hear that about cort. he has got good feet but i'd be amazed to see him actually have a run in the team purely cos of injuries. concerning about stearman.he is performing poorly more often than well. compared to the high standards he set himself a couple of seasons back. he has the ability so its frustrating to see him not deliver what we know he can. but he has got the legs needed for a wingback. anyway, maybe he could be the long term replacement in n'gotty's position????????????????? was a good point i feel
