Meant to listen to something by them for ages but only got around to getting "Bows and Arrows" a few days ago.

The Walkmen are perhaps the best group in NYC, or even the USA, today. There's something unique about their sound that I find hard to describe--sometimes their recordings are produced to sound as if the instruments are all in different rooms. There are a few current groups that mimic ocassionally The Walkmen's sound (Cold War Kids, White Rabbits), but they're far below that top standard ... And almost as if cued, my iPod plays "Tenleytown"--a pop masterpiece.

They're quite old though. I have a couple of their albums. Good band though.

My fave song is Little House of Savages.

I'm slightly more of an Interpol man but they do sound superb.

I have their first album and it's pretty cool. A bit Pavement-ish, but that's no bad thing.
