spirefox Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 Just before his goal Taylor was booked for late challenge on Heath who had to leave pitch after treatment.Virtually immediately afterwards Taylor scores without challenge.I haven't seen a replay but I felt at the time that Heath had not had time to get back into position.Did anybody else think this?
Craig Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 We were punished by not taking our chances. If they'd have scored 4, with the chances we had, i'd still have expected us to win.
Anish Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 You're being too kind on Heath I think - he was on the pitch long enough to mark Taylor...which he obviously didn't do.
spirefox Posted 6 March 2005 Author Posted 6 March 2005 You're probably right ,in which case we can expect McCarthy to start on Tuesday.I still think it's a crap rule when a fouled player has to go off and leave his team short. Why don't they make the fouling player go off as well, especially when they've been booked.
Benji Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 agreed the rule sucks, why should you be at a disadvantage for being fouled surely you should only go off if play is stopped for you oh well, but like craig says, rogers might have been offside i dunno not seen replay yet but we shouldn't need to rely on officials. We should have been 3 or 4 up before that point only ourselves to blame
TrickyTrev Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 He was on the pitch long before the goal, it was just poor defending by Heath, Maybury and somebody else who let Taylor stand in between all three of them unmarked.
Benji Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 tiatto on the back post, made me chuckle to be fair, if only someone with a bit of height read the game like he did to get on the back post
Bedford Fox Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 That Law is stupid and needs to be scrapped! Why doesnt a goalie have to do it is inconsistant and pointless!
Scow Posted 6 March 2005 Posted 6 March 2005 Two players unmarked at the back post, shocking defending. The ball shouldn't have got to Rogers wide left in the first place...
